I was disappointed that she didn't keep the natural wood grain of the shells by staining them, but they look so much better painted I was so surprised.

@@bayseadones6095 I thought that but then thot if over door and to the slanted opposite walk it would appear jagged and cramped. The paint over shelves and brackets adds to the unity of the whole wall.

I hung a branch from my ceiling using fishing line. You can get some that are rated to 25lbs+, and it looks like its floating.

Totally agree. The gap between the end of the middle shelf and the one below it was really bothering me. I did wonder if Alexandra was going to put a lamp or something taller than the gap in the shelves to fill in the vertical space but without something like that my eye is just drawn to that empty space. Also if the middle shelf were longer his book collection would have space to grow, which is definitely needed if you love books!

Agree, there is wasted space. I think a table next to the bed would be more practical than the curved bookshelf, so a glass of water and a lamp could be placed there, but the hanging light may be enough.

Beautifully made-over and I love that you used a lot of their own pieces rather than buying everything new. I'd love to see these makeovers become cruelty-free and using something like plant-based leather or another material instead of someone's skin.

Quick planty tip! Avoid hanging them near radiators, they won't like the hot dry draughts. If it's unavoidable, just make sure you water them more often to avoid them drying out! Love the room makeover though and the plants do look so cute hanging on the branch! 😍
