1:04:36 K_ss: Pop quiz! Which of the following cards am I going to play this turn? (Choose all that apply.) A) Crucible of Worlds B) Vedalken Shackles C) Myr Battlesphere D) Tangle Wire LSV: Um, B and C would be the most threatening. So I'll go with those. 1:05:22 K_ss: Ooh, I'm sorry. The correct answer was E) Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger. Thanks for playing! Better luck next time!

That commit soulfire lock was filthy. I would rather be soulfire timewalk locked. At least that way I wouldn't suffer the humiliation of having to draw the same cards over and over.

@mrc35336 жыл бұрын
I have nothing against core sets, they just aren't that interesting to watch after a while because they are fairly simplistic.
@timw97456 жыл бұрын
They have been coming out a lot while it was still online..
@codetaku6 жыл бұрын
uTubeNoITube: I love playing core sets and love what core sets do for the game. But once you've played 5 drafts, you've seen every deck in the format, and so among players at the pro level, watching them draft eventually comes down to pack luck while drafting and draw luck while playing.

Taking a random storm card in your non storm deck, over goblin dark dwellers when you already have the best dark dwellers target in the cube, time walk, is a huge punt.

29:25 could get lethal by attacking with colonnade, geist, and tap riftwing with either colonnade or splicer right?
@antsache6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and I think it was pretty safe to go for it there. It's just that if they manage to somehow stop the Colonnade they get to eat the Geist with True-Name, which isn't great. I don't know if he was playing around anything in particular, but the Giddeon line was probably marginally safer. Not that it was all that important with Lark and Baneslayer in hand.

The crazy thing is that blue is powerful enough to pick every single draft
@Frogplushy6 жыл бұрын
Blue cards in magic have been the most powerful because of the following rule: He who sees the most cards wins the game. Effectively meaning: If I have more options to deal with threats, create threats, and impact the game state than you, I am going to win the game.
@utterlyj12776 жыл бұрын
Yup. LSV isn't joking when he says it's always correct to draft blue in cube. Unless you're going mono red, green or white, there's really not that much incentive not to have some blue cards in your deck. I did not mention mono black because it's bad.

Is mono red no good in this cube anymore? I would've thought about switching for that 5th pick Goblin Guide. Would've picked up Guide, Koth, Vortex, and Magus pack 1 then Fireblast, Eidolon, Hazoret, Lavamancer, and a couple good one drops pack 2.
@jc700036 жыл бұрын
Rob Miller in my non-expert opinion, mono red is better in the legacy cube. In the vintage cube, people are doing busted things which can often be faster and more disruptive than mono red
@joeltucci19166 жыл бұрын
It’s playable, the problem is that it doesn’t really do anything to disrupt the opponent so often times even though your clock is fast theirs is faster. Mono-white is the Aggro deck you want in vintage cube, it’s only slightly slower than mono-red but has lots of disruption/taxing making it much harder for your opponent to go off with something broken before you get them to 0
@yawgmoth56626 жыл бұрын
Also people play cube mostly for fun. The prizes are basically non-existent. So why draft the lamest deck possible?
@mrc35336 жыл бұрын
The prize for winning cube is that you get to play more cube.
@Alkoholwioslaidziwki6 жыл бұрын
Mono red was never good in vintage cube. Too slow to outrace the broken stuff and no interaction to disrupt it.

I questioned a lot of your picks this draft, but none more than taking mulldrifter over Elspeth. I think that was just wrong.
@Frogplushy6 жыл бұрын
It appears as though you're evaluating the cards from a pure power level standpoint, and not actually what they do in the deck. Mulldrifter lets the deck do its broken things more consistently, while Elspeth would just allow for another broken thing to happen. The pick is debatable, but it's certainly not just wrong to take the Mulldrifter. Consistency vs Power Spikes is a tricky debate, but you should err on the side of caution, in this case, consistency.
@utterlyj12776 жыл бұрын
Deck already had plenty of high end. Didn't need another finisher. Mulldrifter just makes your deck function better.

Why, Frank is amazing. His content is fire
@TheDray0086 жыл бұрын
Igrams my biggest problem with him is he would try to play fun unique decks to appeal to anti meta people, but he would just pilot them so poorly.. it's frustrating to see.. so I'm sure with a deck he practiced he can play decently especially if it is the crazy busted eldrazi deck but yeah.
@bladeflesh6 жыл бұрын

Frank Lepore's skills (or lack thereof) at the game of magic has nothing to do with why I strongly dislike him.
