I'm blown away by this. It's a huge difference. Use headphones and a good volume. Truly, Thanks!

I absolutely love logics vintage eq drive and output types. Sounds amazing on anything from a mix bus to individual tracks. I find myself reaching for it rather than a lot of my third party plugins.

I LOVE the Tube EQ in Logic. Can't recommend it highly enough as a way to add natural low end to your kick and bass, as well as a way to add air and sparkle to your mix bus or vocals. This video reminded me that I should start experimenting with the other Vintage EQs Logic offers. That said, if you want a Pultec-style EQ that's even better and also free, I highly recommend the Warmy EP1A Tube EQ from Kiive Audio. It's completely free! The presets alone will make your mix better. I'm always skeptical of plugins as a one-stop solution for mix problems, but this one blew me away.

Sounds like the saturation helped fill it out and glue the tracks together to me 👍 I like the simplicity of this plugin. Keeps me out of trouble.

Amazing difference. Opens the sound right up. Great job. I use the Slate virtual console “N” setting with similar results. Great job!

How do the plug ins compare to what you have owned in the past?
@pamphletamine7979 Жыл бұрын
@@bancodebeatz I don't think I have a comparison, everything is different, I can tell you that just activating the Vintage plug I feel that Neve fatness.

I agree. It is glued together better. It blends it.

In my experience This is the hardest thing to hear/learn for beginners mixers. It took me years to learn what a proper hardware preamp and compressor can do on the way in used sparingly. That combined w saturation knowledge will really gel a track together and give it that “studio” sound. But again it’s more a sum of the parts all adding up versus drastic changes on 1 track in solo just makes for a bad mix

I'm actually surprised I could tell the difference! It is in fact very subtle but there was a sense of cohesion with it on. Have to give it a try, thanks again for the content. I learned a lot from this channel.

I like the vintage eq but I wish we had control over the high shelf eq range..
@exe41563 жыл бұрын
you do, use the graphic EQ and change the tune up to +12 as high as u want... up to 32000. hz.. No need for this as you cannot hear this range, but it can introduce audio anomalies

Plug-in alliance TMT channel strips do something similar to this as well, and work great. I would love to see a Logic Pro x native “channel strip” plug-in. Would be cool to get a logic “SSL” style plugin.

I know each vintage EQ has its own subtly distinct vibe, but if we want to avoid latency, would you say the Distortion section of Logic’s compressor can fulfill the same role in its own way? I like to turn off all compression and just use the Distortion section for glue, controlling the amount of clipping with the Make-Up Gain control. I also like to use the compressor’s built-in limiter over Logic’s dedicated limiter. It’s not as fully featured, but there’s virtually no latency.

Since I discovered that distortion feature in Logic's compressor I use it on almost everything, whether or not the compressor is actually compressing anything.

You have the right channel at the right time for me, since I've been running Sonar / Cakewalk on Windows 10 for a long time, but just acquired an M1 Mac, because it's fast, and has Thunderbolt, so I'm about to hook it up to a UAD Apollo. I have the base Macbook Pro as well as an unopened base Mini, but may exchange for 16gigs, not sure about 512 storage because I can get the hub with an M2 slot. Your tips are just what I need, and I didn't think Waves plugins would even work. I have Fabfilter, Valhalla, Plug In Alliance plugs but haven't loaded them yet. With limited ports, how do you handle license keys for various plugins ?

Great information, but I am wondering about the difference in levels between the with and without tracks. I couldn't see the without track meter so don't know what it was reading, but from just comparing the wave forms, the with track had a bigger, wider image than the without track. Thus it appears that Vintage EQ track was just a bit louder than the one without it. Please explain? Thanks Chris.

good idea, i’ll have to try this. i definitely liked it better with the console EQ. without, it sounded like the kick drum was detached from the rest of the drum kit and the bass wasn’t as locked in. the console EQ made it a little more colorful and gave a vibe of the whole band playing in the same room. are there any instances where you prefer the graphic or the tube EQ over the console?

Thanks for this tip! Been wondering how i could get this Vintage collection in use... Don't know, maybe I missed this if you explained in the video, but one thing that came to mind is that I see that you have Space designer in one of the channels. Is it there as a reverb or does it have another function in there? If it is a reverb, then why it is good that you use this console EQ in the end of the chain to glue even the reverb? Of course in some cases in creative process you might do whatever you want as long as it sounds good, but I wanted to ask this since this video is specifically done in mixing process and that is the reason why console EQ or any other compression doesn't really add up in my mind. Please correct me if I'm delusional! :)
