So many post sad or overly nostalgic comments here. I personally love fall, vintage jazz, and old paintings like these. The past was never as good as we think it was and the future is never as dark as we paint it. Live each day the best you know how, with love and good intent, for today is all we ever have.

Nah, the past was pretty good. It really just depends what part you look at. Personally, I see the world diving headfirst into the toilet right now. In the U.S., the government has given stupid people power which has just sent the whole country into a downward spiral. Not trying to be a downer, just bringing the truth to light.

@@TheBradinator214 It was not good for many, there were still stigmas and rules, so in this present it is better to enjoy these things of the past. Think about it, in what time of the past would you like to be born knowing in which country you will be, and being a woman?

A simpler time during a beautiful season. Notice no cell phones in anybody’s hands, a father who is not reading the newspaper or watching the football game but instead spending time with his children willingly. I would imagine their mother is inside baking an apple pie for them to enjoy later.

Remember this is just a painted picture. Most young fathers these days are much more involved than ours ever were, I had a great dad, but he wasn’t involved. More is expected of fathers now than just bringing home a paycheck and mowing the grass. I’m 57 by the way so I’m not a millennial posting this.

Thanks for putting this up. This is the kind of music you could only hear on Music of Your Life. I only know that because I inherited my grandfather's Chevy Mailbu, which only had AM. This was in '91. Fiddling with the dial through lo-fi kilohertz static, not much caught my attention till I landed on 970AM WAVE (Louisville, Ky). Never heard this kind of music outside 50s Rock. This station featured a program Music of Your Life with the hits of the day, even back to the 1930s. These were oldies you didn't even catch on those Time-Life comp album infomercials. Now with the internet, there are a whole bunch of Music of Your Life type channels - wonderful! Again, thanks for putting this up. Love it!

Mathew don't be so dramatic. Everything was much better back in the day. The way holidays were celebrated back then compared to now. I love the nostalgia of days gone by. I grew up in the 60's but I love the movies of the 30's and 40's. Even music of the 40's thru the 70's.

@@zefearth973 well said. The picture is sad because it taunts us with times and wonderful values that once were, that we would sacrifice everything to have a taste of, but sadly are out of reach. For me, it hits home because my dad left home when I was young, and I never got to have a happy father son relationship like seen in so many old paintings of father with kids, or father and son hiking and hunting and fishing. So many simplistic warm memories that I could only wish I had.
@nikolai82674 жыл бұрын
@@zefearth973 Yeah, it truly is awful for a family and kids to go through. My only hope is that one day when I grow old and have kids of my own, that I can be that father who takes his son out into nature and creates simplistic warm memories that every kid should grow up with.
