@Capt777harris If you think the golden time went away because confrontationalism rose, you're thinking wrong. The reason America no longer has the American Dream is because wages haven't gone up proportionally to productivity, inflation or living cost, and the taxation on the 1% has dropped through the floor over the past five presidents. The increased confrontationalism comes from people realizing how they're being wronged, how they're being robbed from what they were promised, for no real reason, except deeply systematic greed.

If you ask me, I think part of the reason for discontent among us younger generations stems from our overstimulation. Sure the economic disparity plays a factor as someone before me pointed out, but I've noticed a new appreciation for life's tasks when I limit my use of social media. Even a few of my friends who dabble in humbler activities seem to be happier. The only thing to keep in mind (if you're younger than a millennial), is that some friends might not appreciate older hobbies and might distance themselves, but the best kind of friends will come back/join you in trying something different. I recommend cards and dominoes as a start for friendly gatherings. :]

I’m guessing it’s a Father - Son team. The Dad on the ladder with the paintbrush in hand, as the son’s wasting time reading a Painting For Dummies book, hassling his Dad that he missed a spot. Those were much simpler, fun times! I loved helping my Dad.

The further back you go the less marketing is a factor in music. People, at one time, wrote and composed music for the sake of it. Today's popular music really is worse that previous generations.
