That 1959 terminal dedication video bit is gold. It looked like that to about the 1980s when parking garages began to be built practically everywhere.

Time has changed so fast, looking at this makes me feel so lost. All the possibilities and accomplishments we have made, this is an amazing life we all have together.

I flew for several of these In the'50s. Then I was a Special Representative of the president, National Airlines , at this building. We stewardesses had to quit when we got married. Or else we got fired. I flew for Pan Am, Continental Charters, National. Flew a few trips for TAN and one other--forget the name. Pan Am was my love but i was transferred to New York. Gram said we were living in Sin City--which we were--so i reluctantly obeyed and we went home to Miami.

I didn't know anyone was still around from National Airlines, wonderful. My father was a pilot for National from 1950 - 1978, my mother a flight attendant. She married my dad in 1954 and yes they fired her. I miss them both very much but I also miss old Miami and National Airlines.

Back when everyone dressed nice, and people were respectful and polite. Now a days it's pants down to your crack, tatts everywhere, and the look at me entitlement generation.

So much coke being transported in those planes they needed the whole runway.

19:56, Definitely 1966 or after for this part of the film. That National Airlines B727 has the Sun King on the tail. My father could have been Captain of that very aircraft. 1950-1978

I never knew there was a 20th Street airline terminal for Northeast and Dominicana that operated concurrent with the 36th Street terminal. It must have been located roughly where the Delta wing of the current terminal sits.

Richard Turner I really doubt it was concurrent. The current terminal (20th st) was a railyard and Army Airbase when 36st was operational.
