Frank Kelly would have to be one of my favourite drivers. Humble and a man who must be carrying around a huge set of bollocks. His Escort - Baby Blue - has one of the dare-I-say sexiest engine sounds in existence, and his daughter is his co-driver. I'm telling you stuff you already know, so instead I'd like to say thanks for posting that comment otherwise I may have skipped this without ever knowing that interview existed. 👍 My only complaint is that during the interview the dude had his paw leaning on the car - 'admire and respect, but please don't touch' is a sign I'd always sit under one of the wiper blades during car shows.

There is no way that is the same shell Colin crashed at rally GB because he didn't just crash, he properly wrecked that car. Very bad crash and it cost him the title that year. Still a great video, love the old Fords

When I was in my teens you could by a rusty MOT fail MK1 or Mk2 escort for less than £50 (there were fkn loads of 'em) - or you could buy a good one with 6 months TAX & MOT for a couple hundred quid. The best of the bunch would often find their 1.3 ripped out and replaced with 2.0 pinto from a £50 cortina. So many of them got crashed, abandoned, pushed off cliffs, dumped in the forest, burned, some even went for a permanent deep dive in a flooded limestone quarry. You can add a number of Mk1 fiestas and minis to the list too. Them were the days....Oh, if only we knew...

Love all cars from rallys. Can appreciate them all. But we all have are favourites mk2 escort is mine. My dad has a signal amber rs2000 owned by ford for the first year of its life. Wont tel us what it was used for as they say records are lost but they think it was a press car. Any way its not a droop snoot any more been flat fronted with 2 up 2 downs full monte carlo arches full cage running 2.1 c20xe with twin50 webbers took him, me and a host of other people 3 years to build on weekends. It will never be sold it will be passed down to me as i am the oldest but my little sis and bro might have somthing to say but they will have to fight me for it lol
