Vintage Fountain Pens

Here are three vintage fountain pens that were in my wife's family. None have been restored, but they bring back fond memories to family members.

Your video reminded me that my grandparents had cheap fountain pens, and that I used when visiting them. That was close to 50 years ago! The last pen looks great!

Do you use specialty pens in your art?

@@ima4ster Yes. I have quill pens that are dip and draw, with many nib styles. I also have marking pens with in a variety of tip sizes, but they all use black ink. The latter are seldom used.

Can't tell you anything about the first pen; the second is a Sheaffer's Balance; and the silver overlay was typical of pens from the early 1900s to the 1920s, like Waterman's and Sheaffer's. It is an eyedropper style, meaning you fill the barrel directly from an eyedropper full of ink. Try each as a dip pen to see how well they write. They all look like worthwhile restoration projects and lovely heirlooms. Cheers from Australia.

Have mercy...why didn't I find your channel sooner? Fountain pens, day planners, EDC, knives, pistols, prepping, coffee...if you are into vintage pocket watches, I am going to think you are a brother from another mother. Btw, if you ever run across an Arnold fountain pen - the son of the guy who started the company, who later took the reigns (Remmie Arnold, in Petersburg, VA) was my godfather. God bless!

Well, I do have 2 pocket watches. I asked for a pocket watch when I graduated from high school, but I don't consider that one vintage. The other pocket watch was handed down to me by father-in-law. Both work.

Ok, mostly Glocks here (mainly because of how my prepping has evolved, familiarity, and the reliability)(went from a 30S to a 26 to a 19 to a 26 again, and now a 43x has me in its grip), mainly Franklin planners for 25 years, did the "paper to PDA and back to paper" thing in the early to mid 2000's, love my Cross, Parker, and Waterman fountain pens, found a GREAT EDC bag in the 5.11 Rush sling pack, love old Hamilton or Elgin railroad pocket watches, and am a (now disabled due to a back injury) geologist in the western valley and ridge of VA, not far from Roanoke.

@@ima4sterI don’t have a strong interest in vintage pens but my daughter came into possession of several pens from her months-in-law so I did some general Google searches. An inlaid waterman pen was listed on eBay for 1,200. Your inlaid pen could be a challenge if a close inspection with magnification does not show indication of brand. All the luck of you decide to research the subject. By the way, the pen was most likely an eye dropper pen.

Thanks for your comment. I did find out a little more about it after making the video. It isn't in great condition, but it means something to us as it was in my wife's family.
