Hi Willie, very nice finds. I can't wait to see them at work, once you get the other two cleaned up. The Mitchell cleaned up really nice, it looked brand new. I hope it works like that. 😊 Tell all Hi and meow. Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Howdy Skye!! It was a great outing. The Mitchell cleaned up well and worked great. Video come of out soon. Unfortunately the Zebco 33 broke while I was trying to work on it so it’ll be a while before it gets used. The Zebco Legacy seems to be fine. I’ll get it out there real soon. Everyone says “Hi Skye” and meow🐈⬛. Thanks for watching Skye!!

I'd say you had a pretty productive day of antique store shopping that produced some interesting finds! I really like that Garcia Mitchell 304; I don't recall ever seeing one! Can't wait to see them all in action!

Hey CJ! I tried that reel out today but nothing caught on it… not even a nibble. May be a later episode, spring special. All the winter finds go out at the same time lol. Thanks for watching CJ!!

That was an ancient cherrywood, definitely some cool finds an antique shop, and you can't beat those reels!

The rod was in great shape but not worth $35. I’ve used many cherrywoods through the years. Still have a few. Just thought it was amusing to find one after you mentioned one. Until you mentioned it, I had never even seen a Cherrywood Fly rod then I drive 60miles away and there’s one in a flea market😂

I like those old Cherrywoods from the early 1970s, too. Still have the first one I bought in 1971. I keep my eye open for them.

@@ddselvig I would’ve bought that one but they wanted $35 for it. Didn’t need it that bad.😃

Really cool vintage market. There's one in Asheville called Regeneration Station that I enjoy visiting. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there!! Been a long time since I was in Asheville… maybe it’s time for a road trip🤔. I’ll have to remember that name. I love going in places like that. I could just get on eBay and pick out what ever I want but there’s something about finding them on a dusty old shelf that makes it a little more exciting to me… Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!! At last! An old reel that I care about. That old Zebco 33. The little underspin could be useful too. My Dad tried to venture into spinnning with a Mitchell 306 I think. The spool was not skirted and he did not use light enough lures for its capabilities. It was a long, long time before he tried true spinning reels again

Lol, yes the 304 was and is cool. I actually used it yesterday but not even a nibble. I’m afraid the Otters that have moved in are terrorizing the fish. It’s the second time that I haven’t gotten a strike and the Otters were playing around in the water. But, the reel works and performs great. Have to give it a shot somewhere else soon.

Hi Gray, Want you to know that I was back in the 80s, fishing the Conn. River court a Carp weighing 35 pounds with this 304 on 6lb

😳That’s incredible!! I really like the 304 and the 308… They’re a lot of fun, easy to work on, and fairly easy to find.

@@TheGraytOutdoors Gray, I would like to know if a bail spring from a 300-fit a 304?
@TheGraytOutdoors11 ай бұрын
@@edroberts-f5m Honestly, I have no idea. Usually when I use parts from other reels, it’s the same model reel. There is a KZbin channel called “Young and Martins” and his name is Rick Stivers, extremely knowledgeable man who inherited his reel repair from his father.. he would be a good man to ask.

Saw that the nose cap on the Zebco 33 was on upside down. The drain hole was on the top of the reel which could have contributed to the spool problem.

That Zebco 33 is worth a few bucks.
@TheGraytOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Strangely, I find Zebcos pretty cheap and just about everywhere I go. If I bought every one I’ve come across I’d have to rent a warehouse to store them in😂. But that Zebco turned out to be a good little reel. I had to combine a couple of reels to make that one work and I’m glad I did, because it works great. Thanks for watching! Willie

@TheGraytOutdoors Жыл бұрын
😂 it needs a spool. It was warped and hitting everything inside. Soon as I took the spool out it turned smooth as butter. I’ll find parts for it somewhere down the line. The Zebcos are everywhere. Shouldn’t take long. Thanks for watching!!
