Good thing that lifts have two safety contacts. Eventhough the latch engaged, the door contact prevented it from moving. It seems the logic is aware of that and is able to correct this by retracting the latch.

The latch should never engage, thought. The latch should only engage if all doors are closed, including doors in other floors, for at least half a second (to avoid errors due to contact bouncing). The elevator then should only move if all doors and latches are closed, for at least half a second.

Was the beeping it was doing at the beginning when you first got in it nudge mode? Also, I like the design of the controls and display specially the animation effect on the numbers on the interior display.
