In this episode I show how to modify the Band 4 oscillator section which rarely aligns well with the dial so that the analog dial will be accurate. The design of the capacitance inductance resonance circuit is explained as to how varying the installed capacitance and inductance can be changed to calibrate the dial accurately in this genre of Hallicrafters general coverage shortwave receivers. After accidently damaging a ceramic capacitor and the inductor secondary as well, the radio is repaired and signals are received accurately indicated on the dial. The radio then takes its place next to the Hallicrafters HT-37 transmitter (in the queue for servicing) and the Hallicrafters SX-71 shortwave receiver, and the Japan Radio Corp. NRD-535D shortwave receiver.
