In this episode the regular start up DC voltage measurements are completed. But the receiver is deaf. Signal tracing found one miss wire, and a later one is found by deduction.

I think the new camera will be a definite improvement! Only suggestion is to switch it to autofocus; most of the shots are still very blurred and out of focus.

Unfortunately the camera does not have auto focus. So I have changed the resolution to 4K, went to wide angle in most shots, and spent more time optimizing lighring to minimize blur.

Keep up the good work. Thanks. CAL

Like your SX-100 videos as I have one that needs some alignment. I wish you'd do a simple alignment video, step by step showing where you make the connections. I don't mind if it takes you 5 videos, just needs to be something I could follow. You need to have focus as you're videos are all out of focus.

Actually l did one pryor to this restore. The unit I am restoring was aligned in a video before I took it apart. The major hurdle is having a signal generator capable of below 50 khz for the second IF. The service manual method is excellent and works well but you have to follow the instructions slow and careful. If your IFs are way out of alignment ( low sensitivity or image frequencies +- 1650 or 50 khz) then there may be a problem with the mixer subchassis and have to take it out for a look. If it is a dial calibration problem, particularly band 4 you may want to put a few ppf cap across the oscillator trimmer. I spent a lor of time trying to improve focus on the current video.

You are out of focus!

Yes the new camera was set at the default conditions that I have been running on (doing the same thing over again and expecting different results). None of my cheap "oriental" cameras have auto focus, but this one has 4K. So I have been experimenting and found that two things can improve clarity. Pushing the camera to the max resolution, and in the Vegas rendering software pushing it to 4K 2160 at 50fps - It still uploads as HD in KZbin. The other factor is lighting. So I found that the resolution improves the stronger the lighting is. I hope the next video with these factors, and camera positioning, will be an improvement, but even under best conditions I cannot read the component labeling.
