Neat stuff! I have many antique/vintage tools either handed down from great-grandparents & in-laws or gifted to me because I build and restore things, mostly wood but some metal pieces. I have a few tools that I had no idea what they were called. Now I know I’ve got a cross-cut bow saw-so I can research them a bit. I also have a pretty large collection of files and haven’t ever heard the round ones called a rat tail file, but that does makes sense. I reckon I’ll call it that from now on. Cheers and thanks for sharing-would love to see more videos on old antique/obsolete tools :-)

Great show! Love that Elgin! Just found your channel. It's very nice. You wouldn't happen to know what the color on that motor is called? I'm working on a project and I think that's the exact color I need.

The wood grain dictates the way you use the drawknife and spokeshaves. That was a particularly nasty diagonally cut piece if wood! The 2 wooden handled 'rasps' are body files for dressing down lead body filler, used in car body repair, before polyester fillers came on the market.

2:52 😕 I thought you'd show this more in-depth. It looks like it's not a typical screwdriver.
