I do believe you've given this old boy another new side hobby. Thanks, my friend. I can't seem to watch enough of these restoration videos. I just got out of a 5-year rc building hobby. That can get to be a very expensive little "addiction" before you know it. I've just always enjoyed working on and fixing useful things.
@Uwannawatch2 ай бұрын
rc cars That's an awesome hobby. When I was in my later teens I was really into them and yes it does get very expensive. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I can tell you this hobby can be expensive too.. But I usually try to just find things from the Flea market and yard sales.so at least the initial investment isn't too bad. Keep us posted about what you get up to fixing. take care.

I have that exact same set that was originally my father's. He kept it on his Harley's in the 1940's. The ratchet is not part of the set. There is also a small 6" round metal bar that goes through the hole on the breaker bar to give one a T type grip that is missing from the set. As an FYI, the original color was similar to military green. Great job on restoring it!

I once bought a set of such cheap tools at one of those here for one day tool sales. And of course they rusted almost before I got them home. I too wire brushed them on a bench grinder wire wheel setup and they again looked good for a very little time. Hey George, that is a nice restoration of quality old tools, it was good to see your efforts were worthwhile. I really liked how the Vulcan was clicking, sounded like new! Just curious, any estimate on the age of the socket set?

Thank You! I'm not sure but from what I've heard it's from somewhere between the 30's to 50's. New Britain went out of business around 1990.

Thank You Mr. Wallace! It might be a few days before I can catch up on that pt 3 Natchez video.I like the longer ones but sometimes I have to wait until the weekend to watch. I can't wait to see it all done!

That was an awesome score!! I love the safety blue case. You need a logo (Maybe an adult beverage bottle) that you could stencil on items like this, Not necessarily Jimmy DiResta style, but just a fun embellishment, Back to doing the Royal Flush before football starts. Have an amazing week brother!!

Hey Patrick! Thanks Brother! You spotted it was safety blue..That's awesome! I'm working on getting some logo stuff made so that'll be in a future video.Just the literal same old s**t at work for me. Take it easy and whoo hoo halfway to the weekend!

That's interesting to see square nut sockets included in the set. Nice resto and a great price. I'd much rather spend the time and effort to cleanup an old American socket set than to purchase a new foreign made. I've used rust converter products on my vehicles and the stuff really works well. The first product I used was Por 15 back in the 80s, worked really well but super expensive. Great video George, stay cool.

Mike,Mike,Mike! You got that right! I would rather clean and use a mix match American made set then pay for and use any of the cheap new foreign crap everybody seems to be pushing these days! You've used rust converter on your cars? That's weird I assumed you always had Dodge. They are born perfect and never grow old. 😁. That converter is some good stuff seriously.

have you ever used 50/50 mix to soak parts? half ATF and 30 weight motor oil is what I use. Always interesting to see what you are up to in your videos. As always thank you

Hey there Jack! The only thing I ever use that 50/50 for is chains. I personally like Kroil or Blaster. You have been around the shop with me a long time now and I just want to say thank you for always supporting me. It means a lot Brother.
