Hi Smitty! Bryan from Chillicothe, OH here. I always tell people I don't want anything past 1990. I also have a 925, Super XL Auto, an XL Auto, Super 2 VI, 330, and 2 Husqvarna 65L's. I'm a big fan of old power saws that start with the letter "H" !!!

Yes There isnt any shure fire Way to determine cyl condition. even pulling the muffler there can be damage you cant see. Monday I went to a estate auction. And they didnt have any chainsaws listed. However I noticed something. A old blue Homelite. It was a Gas Engine Driven XL100 circulat saw.A gas powred Skil saw! I told my son that what I came to buy. I did not know it was here but that is the one item. So I managed to buy it and 2 more homelite chainsaws for $125. We made a auction video on our channel. We are located in the NE Arkansas Ozarks. I think I have about a 75 of the older chainsaws at the present. Me and plastic saws dont get along.

Great video Smitty. Really good info. Someday I’m gonna get my blue and white XL fixed up. It will run but she’s got a scored cylinder and piston and the pull start is messed up. But I love the way it looks. From California BTW.

From south central WI Have a few old Homelites, it's the 1st saw I remember my dad using, so always been a fan! What production chainsaw in your mind has the most torque? I've heard the Echo cs1201, the generation older model was the cs1200, supposedly beats out the 881 but the EPA doesn't allow them here, (although you can buy them on Ebay easy enough, they're expensive though)
