FWIW what you have there is a "Lindal Valve" fuel canister. It is the standard in LP Butane mix stove fuels today. It has an internal spring valve so you can remove the regulator /hose. It is the very reason this system was created as the older pierceable type canisters would leak.

I followed the link and purchased the adapter. Wow! Extremely high quality so that once I had it in hand the price was well worth it. Thanks for the tip and the link

I'm pretty sure you can take the hose off the can. I do it all the time for my pocket stoves

I picked up one of these awhile back and it still has propane in it. And undamaged mantles. Fired right up. Hey the butane mix canister will seal itself off. Great video. Thanks for sharing and God bless.

i like the design of those lantern, very compact and pretty. i wish i could find one here. my idea would be to make/buy a small adapter to plug a little half can of butane inside.

Thank you. I was given one of these for Christmas to go with my other 2 Coleman lanterns.
@leeb46075 жыл бұрын
That can will seal if you remove it. You can also buy a adapter that will screw-in were the small can goes and hook op to the little green propane bottles. As always great video I really enjoy your stuff
@cevgunnerF4 жыл бұрын
The can you thread on the adapter is removable, there's a valve in it. The old style can had the pick up tube from the lantern punch a hole inside the can, which is why you don't take it off until empty, especially while it's still running.

Yup, proved it in the followup video. ;)

I have two full cans of Coleman 16 oz LP do you have any clue as to what the value is per can?
@LanternLabs4 жыл бұрын
Its always hard to give values. I suspect the can is worth more than the LP. I bought some a few years ago and paid, I think, a couple bucks a can...

Another excellent video! Wished I’d have known these adapters existed months ago. Passed up a couple of these because of the hard to find canisters. Is the O-ring on the adapter just a standard one? Also, finger cots at the drug store are fairly cheap and work well in place of removing a glove finger 😆 and I use them on the ends of my grease guns and etc. Have heard them called finger condoms by people in the medical profession.
@LanternLabs5 жыл бұрын
I thought of finger cots after the fact. I also think I should be able to find an o-ring to fit over to hold it on. I haven't measured but I suspect the o-ring inside the adapter is a standard size, or I hope it is anyway.
@outbackstoves3265 жыл бұрын
When you get the adapter in comes with instructions and the size of the o-ring. It's a common size 103 70 Buna N
@LanternLabs5 жыл бұрын
I could read the instructions, duh! Thanks for pointing it out.
