You are not afraid to take apart anything! Waiting for Part 2 to see it back together.

Taking things apart is how I learn, putting things back together is the scary part... Thanks for watching.

So, how many times did you have to refer back to disassembly video to see how to put it all back together? I would have had to do so quite a lot. This would be just about at my limit for take apart and put back back together. Good job!
@vintagemachineworks3 жыл бұрын
Definitely had to check a couple times on this one.

I just bought this same lathe at a big garage sale for $20...needs to be broken down and cleaned totally...i'm a retired carpenter so i know nothing about metal lathes but i know they can be very handy if a small part is needed...so what did you soak the parts in ?? A few info words during the video would be helpful...maybe...i will watch pt.two but this is going to be a challenge for me...your video's will be a BIG HELP...Thanks...🖖

I have a lathe like the one your're working on except mine has a longer bed!
@ruhtra-k4 ай бұрын
I do too. But the longer one the ways are narrower than on my shorter one.

I have one, all works except the spindle is bent. I was thinking of getting a spindle that is solid, should make it a lttile more robust. Thoughts?

I have seen used parts listed on EBay for these quite often.

Nice Video! I'm looking to purchase my first lathe. I need something small. I like these much better than the new imported mini lathes. Any tips on what to look for? what about price range Thanks in advance.
@vintagemachineworks2 жыл бұрын
These little lathes are fine for soft metals but not very versatile. I've seen prices range from $75.00 to $500.

I'm so used to either obnoxious music or people who can't shut the hell up, when I skipped ahead in this video I thought my audio crapped out!
@vintagemachineworks3 жыл бұрын
I don't talk during the videos. Just try to let the work speak for itself. I try not to use music unless I lose audio. Thanks for watching.
