I never had experience with this type of machine. Closest I ever came was LaserDisc, and I have operated one or two of those over the years. But even those did not enjoy widespread acceptance. No idea why the stylus isn't moving. Somebody with an oscilloscope could probably figure out if the processor inside is sending the appropriate signals out, and if not, why not, to move the stylus. That's way beyond the kind of stuff I ever got into.
