These control units for the heat and air weren't meant to be taken apart and serviced...but that never stopped me.

Awesome! Looks like it needed some lubricant. I bet the factory lubricant dried out and became sticky. Guessing they used some type of lithium based grease when new. Pretty cool dissecting parts that were cutting edge 55 years ago when plastic was just starting to replace the metal bits with low cost, light weight, self lubricating, sealed for life (10years?)assemblies. That early design was genius to come up with something that eliminated a lot of expensive tooling to cast or punch out metal bits and replace with injection molded stuff. Low cost and lasted long enough, well for most of the cars:)

Not sure, but I think the shorts are KZbin's way of implementing its own form of Tiktok, which is related to causing ADD.

Really interesting video, Tyler. I see the 3 in 1 oil on your workbench. Did you end up lubricating any part of the climate control box?

I had mine rebuilt, came out great for 85.00, new hose nipples, new socket part for the ball and socket and new wafers, looks and performs like new, Lets see if this gets removed by the admin.
