Love these old tunes. Know many by heart! I’m 70 and raised by Grandparents who were born in 1879 & 1881, then my parents were born in 1915 & 1918, so I was bred on all these dear classics! Sweet, sweet songs of love & life. They will live on for always.

only difference from me, I'm 63, so my grandparents were either already gone, or soon to be. PGrPa when I was about 4 (but I do remember him), MGrMa when I was 10. So my music growing up was Big Band and Beethoven, and Beatles. Not so much as early as the 20s and 30s but I'm into it now. Dad was b. 1912, mom, 1916. M. 1937.

That is amazing. Your grandparents must have been something, bringing you up in their 70's and 80's. I bet they were special. You must have some wonderful stories they told you firsthand.

I'm 67, but really only heard '20s music in old movies. My grandparents were all gone by the time I was born. My mom talked about the big bands, and dances she attended in the '40s. I like the Glen Miller and Benny Goodman bands. Then you had the Andrew'sisters, etc. s,

The Wedding Of The Paper Doll was one of my favorite songs on a CD that my dad got from a guy who made covers of music from this era. Which was really cool. A grown man from the 2000s-2010s doing covers of 20s and 30s music. We got to see him live a couple of times at his New Year’s Eve show. It was so much fun. People were all dressed in outfits from this era and all dancing to this kind of music while the guy and his live band played this music…It was seriously two of the funnest nights of my life probably ❤️

Until our giggles barter tears, let's live; to spin in freedom though damnation prowls; our shimmy dried an angel’s wettened wings. We’ll be regretless when we’ve fallen down. I’m sure they’ve warned you all about the cold. Has thunder knighted any face that’s dry? It rains and everybody wanders home to reign tomorrow at their 9 to 5. Let’s frolic down pneumonia boulevard; the only souls in the midnight birdbath. O, even in the rain be what you are, to own a smile wrinkles never tax. Surpassing judgements in the thunderstorm, go on and find a thing to shiver for

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful recordings. I grew up in the 1950s, hunting for 78s like this in junk shops and remember the excitement of running home to play them, much to my parents' bemusement: I had no time for Rock'n'Roll, the nearest to which I came was Elvis Presley's 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?' which itself was a re-recording of Vaughan De Leath's 1927 version.

I’m turning 20 in 12 days and we’re going to have a 20’s/Flapper themed party. I just got my new heels and flapper costume today. I realized that I had never actually danced in heels before. I dance all the time but usually just barefoot around our condo. And I’ve only worn like full on high heels and not just shoes that have a slight heel…like a few times playing dress up at my grandma’s house when I was 5-10. So now we’re going to a have 20’s party in a little less than two weeks and I’m like the main person for it and I can’t dance in heels so I won’t be able to dance in my flapper costume 😂 I’m playing this music to help myself learn how to dance with these kind of shoes 😂
