Yeah it's pretty sharp, if the owner is willing to pay I'd like to put vintage style orange plastic fenders on it

I have just bought a DT250a in the UK, but it’s not in a very good condition and have just stripped it down to start the refurbishment. I will be watching this set of videos with great interest! 👍

Good luck! These old two strokes can be finicky. Yamaha-enduros.com is a great resource too.

Its in great condition for its age, I'm wondering about the head and barrel, DT250A usually didn't have a radial head, DT250B did though. is this one of those variant's you mentioned.

I had a 75 I rode all over the San Francisco Bay area. Pitted timing cam. Just refused stay adjusted. Great bike other than that. Can’t say I miss it. Always wanted a 400cc. Far more capable bike than many would think.

The 400's must be bananas. I'd love to ride one

I just bought one that's identical. It was manufactured in May 1973, but I guess it's considered a 1974 model.

hey dude, I just picked up a dt250 the same year as yours and it gets no spark even with new plugs. What should I look at first??

Clean the points with sandpaper and then spray with brake cleaner or pull a piece of paper through them a couple times.

My dad had an early 1970s Kawasaki KE175 that he bought brand new and I learned to ride on. Unfortunately 25 years of storing it in a barn with a dirt floor turned it into a rust bucket. What a shame

Doesn’t look like the original engine. My first bike was a brand new 1974 DT250 when I was 16. I think it was about $825.

The owner has to let you take it off road for the final video

OMG, young kids cannot read an odometer. I see them on facebook and people think its like 200,000 miles or something. You saved yourself at the end there.....😂
@two-cargarage2 жыл бұрын
haha yea I still sometimes have to think whether the odo shows tenths or not
