I just watched this at half speed. 😊 I recently pulled out my ponies from the 80s, and they look rougher than I remembered. 😬 Pulling the tails out makes me nervous, but I'll try it with a couple for starters. What's a boil perm? I don't have a flat iron or those sponge curlers. I want to give the ponies to my kids to play with, so fancy hair would go out the window anyway. I think I just need to clean and detangle. I wanted to have my older kids do this, but I'm not sure I trust them. 😬 Question -- I've taken the heads off of two. They were a bit hard to get off. They were a little stuck or fused. Were they supposed to be fused, or is this because of those decades in the attic?

I have a more recent upload that goes over removing a glued pony head, that might help. As far as the tangles, heat is part of what helps detangle and defrizz, without that you might be able to detangle and smooth with just water and conditioner. I have seen people boil water to help smooth out hair and then comb through it to help with frizz. I just find it easier, less messy, or lower risk of putting my hands in super hot water using the flat iron, but there are other ways and you don't have to curl it if it's being used for play. :) I hope that helps!

Some of them are only lightly glued at this point, or not at all, I think it has to do with how long the glue has been on there and how much was applied originally. The older the glue and the lighter the application, the easier it is to remove.
