As always outstanding presentation by Mr. Woo. Looks like I will be pursuing some of those 1960-s rangefinders..

Thanks for the very interesting and informative post. I used a Yashica Minister D for years and had great results. I gave it away long years ago but recently I saw a very neat unit sitting in a Old Camera place and got it back with great pride. I'm still to finish the firat film but it is very much going back in time and I love it. Thanks again.

For me, the Fujica Compact Deluxe takes the crown. Modern battery, fantastic lens, shutter priority and full manual, aperture readout in the viewfinder, medium size, and rear dial focus. Literally the only missing feature is parallax, but that's minor for me. Great rundown of some real classics here. Konica IIIA should be included in any full roundup of "affordable" classics too.

There are lots of people who collect Sears Tower branded cameras. Everything from Leica copies to 5x6 to the cameras you have there. They named the brand Tower after one their large Chicago stores called the Sears Tower store. My aunt was personel manager in that store in the late 40s, 50s and 60s.

The golden era for this class of fixed-lens rangefinder was 25 years ago - just before mercury battery cells were banned and repairman willing to take in a low cost leaf shutter camera began to dry up.

I love those videos, thanks for making them. I know most of the stuff but Mr. Woo always has interesting back stories. Have you done a video about earlier interchangeable lens rangefinders like Canon SB2, VI, and so on? Or even Leotax and Nicca and such. Would really appreciate to learn something new of them, as I have several and also done a comparison video on my channel.

Would love to videos on these, however they are hard to come buy where I am from. Will certainly feature them once available.

Why are you restricting this presentation to 35mm?

These are my own collection, that is what I have. For other format rangefinders will have to wait till I can find other owners who have them and are willing to loan for us to do the videos. In other words only what I can lay my hands on will be videos.
