I've sent them four lenses for offer, and at first I was disappointed with the money they offered, but eventually I fully understood that my expectations towards my old lenses were definitely too high. I highly appreciate their business, I am a regular buyer, and the quality from their hands is absolutely reliable.

I'm from the US, but moved to Finland in 2020. Only recently got into film photography. I've bought my all equipment exclusively through Kamerastore, and that' because it gives me ultimate peace of mind. It's just an all around amazing experience with them. Sure... they're a bit on the pricier side, but you get so much more certainty + support.

Yep, I agree. Nice to have confidence in the gear you buy, and also support if any issues arise. Also, just all around great people working there.

Can't really agree with the 'buy physically first' sentiment... Why? Often local camera shops are just flipping cameras with no care for the condition. There are exception that support skilled old-school mechanics in the back, but they're the minority.

I'm not sure that Kamerastore is the largest film camera retailer in the World, actually, I doubt it, but it definitely is one of the largest. What it may be the largest of in the World is as a film camera repair and refurbishing outfit. Most importantly they have most likely the largest stockpile of film camera parts in the World. Additionally, they may by now be the largest training facility for people who want to learn about film camera repair or a professional in that trade.

@11:40 so that means that they are in some way monitoring the price levels of these cameras. Wouldn't hoarding them out from the market lead to price increases? They seem to have *so much* of these things that it might have a small impact already.
@arildedvardbasmo49012 күн бұрын
It wouldn't be worth tying up cash hoarding cameras until the price goes up. However, it also isn't worth spending the 100-1000€ it costs to repair a camera when the camera would maximally fetch 100€. Yet, selling them broken isn't always an option, so storing them temporarily becomes the best solution.

It was great to see the collectors edition of the Maxum 5. Thats one of my favorite cameras. I have 3 working bodies and one extra for parts. Also have 2 DS100s, which are the data transfer attachments for that camera. It’s great to have the EXIF data to attach to your scans. Plus the time stamp allows you to add location data if you track with a GPS. Makes me want to get out and shoot!

Lovely video! its like I got to go on a holiday to camera land! Thanks for making this Kyle. They used to have a great photo festival in Tampere, I showed work there back in 2009 or 10. Question: My game plan for KZbin is to get better at making docs and for Canon 5d Mark IV worked ok in the cellar but its terrible when I try and run with it. This video looks AMAZING! Did you film it on the Fuji you wrote in the text? Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed! I used a Lumix S5IIX for this, mostly with their 18mm prime. The S5IIX has the best IBIS in the game, and I also combined it with the e-stabilisation in camera. This crops in slightly, but with the 18mm being quite wide, it didn't matter. The combo of the IBIS and e-stab is pretty impressive for handheld on the go work like this.
@PicturesOnMyMind22 күн бұрын
@KyleMcDougall amazing thank you. I'll check that out! I'm thinking about getting a Canon C70 as I have so many prime Canon lenses. Ideally I need a camera that someone can use with no experience I want them to help film me for a documentary film I've been trying to make for four years! Ha!
