I have one and love it, I also have a V100TWR and love it. I've been playing 42 years and I think these are much better than the Gibson $1800 line of guitars.

Are you referring to Gibson tribute line vs Vintage guitars comparison?

JSN is the principal factory of the group of factories Firefly orders guitars from, Jesun factory in Weifang Shanduong. The 1st 2 numbers in the serial number designates the various factories. 06 and 80 make pretty decent ones, 80 can but they've also made some dogs too. Prince's was a Hohner Mad Cat. H.S. Anderson versions are the current "authentic" ones, Eastwood makes a medium spendy copy. Harley Benton makes one, the pickguard material looks a little different. Prince's tech eventually put Fender noiseless pickups in his, about the equivalent of the current Vintage Noiseless versions, no fancy. Might have tried Kinmans along the way, read the tech's tale some time ago. Whomever makes the Mad Cat makes them all look more or less like this one.

I'm curious to know what amp/pedals were used to achieve that nice overdriven tone!

I am confused. I see in every eshop in my country that the maschine heads are Wilkinson Deluxe WJ44 and not Grover Deluxe. How come?

Does this model have a different bridge pickup from the 2018 model? Just watched a review of this guitar from then and the bridge pickup was described as “nasally” which I would agree with.

I have a 2009 and I think they're pretty much the same as the recent ones, except the Graph Tech nut, it seems like there's more variation on the humbuckers used on the new V100's (before most of the "Standard's" had WVC)
@jamesmarkham74892 жыл бұрын
@@stefangranberg9319 thank you Stefan, so the older versions just have a regular plastic nut? Do you like the humbuckers? Or did you replace them?
@stefangranberg93192 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmarkham7489 the ones we have are probably plastic, a few years ago I noticed that the specs now say they use Graph Tech nuts, I love the humbuckers (Wilkinson WVC), sometimes I want the real deal (Gibson), but I really don't NEED one, my V100 feels broken in now after playing it for 12 years, and it does everything I want a LP to do :) Midge Ure plays V100 since 2010, and just added a third one to his stable

I am interested in this guitar, I just worry about the neck dive, as it is standard SG issue. Can you please comment?
@christoguichard43112 жыл бұрын
I have one. No neck dive at all.

I hate the compromises to the body shape that Vintage have had to make to allow them to expand into the US market and avoid Gibson litigation. Its BS and dont believe the hype that the changes were introduced to improve access to the strings it was purely to avoid litigation. JHS Vintage would still be making proper shape guitars (as they did for 20 years before they expanded into the US market) if they thought they could get away with it. The guitars are called reissued for a reason the reissued guitars were described as reissued after JHS dcided to change the body shape (which was purely a business decision as JHS looked to expand into the biggest guitar market in the World) which in my humble opinion is a travesty. If JHS had any sense they would be making 2 different types of guitars one for the US market with the offsets and a "proper" shape for the rest of the World markets where Gibson cant touch them.
@djangle672 ай бұрын
The older ones didn’t have bound necks like these reissues though so there is that. Personally I think it looks ok as I like offset shapes.
