When I was living in Colorado in the mid 1980s, a friend had a Sonnet. I believe it was v-4 2 stroke. Handled like a go cart. But it was under powered, even when it ran good, which wasn’t very often.😆
@satanihelvetet Жыл бұрын
The early Sonetts had two strokes, but it's a 3 cyl inline. The V4 is a four stroke.

I haven't driven in Sweden in many years but I remember very low speed limits and some uncompromising traffic cops. Got ticketed there more often than almost anywhere other country.

my old ktm sometimes starts backwards
@mbo1916 жыл бұрын
It can happen. A friend of mine changed the wires from the distributor to the spark plugs, he didn't mark up the old wires but just took them off and banged in the new ones. Motor coughed a bit when he cranked it but it started up, and he had 3 gears backwards and 1 forward. He said it had a "wet" sound in the exhaust note due to the late ignition point.

A 2 stroke engine often doesn’t matter or care which way it runs.

My first car, did exactly the same to me, l was an apprentice in a garage and put the plug leads on the wrong way round, another mechanic sorted it for me.

That‘s some interesting shifter placement!
@nulle.k Жыл бұрын
Pretty common in Old european compacts of that era
@mottee Жыл бұрын
@@nulle.k The column shifter is a convenient arrangement if the linkage has not too much play. A front wheel driven car needs some kind of linkage from the shifter to the 'box anyhow, so an on-the-floor stick would not provide any initial advantage. A column shifter leaves more leg room, as does also the "umbrella handle" in the dashboard which was common in small French cars.
