Shiver me timbers mate ! You turned a sow's ear into a silk purse ! Nice work and I love the powder blue and white color scheme with the teak accents. Nothing like getting a neglected vessel out on the water again ! Enjoy your videos and your calming demeanor. Thank you !! Kenny/ Oregon

Great job of restoration. I sail a 1962 O'Day javelin and this season I added the same tabernacle to make stepping the mast easier. I also added two reef points to the main sail. Keep up the great videos.

You sure did a great job sprucing the boat up, looks really good. That first mate of your's makes it look even better : )

Even for a small cuddy cabin like the O'Day there are so many little details to consider when refinishing

Very nice that you can spend 4 days working and not looking a hole lol better

Excellent job. The blue and white contrast beautifully with the stained wood. Hard to beat the performance and the lines of these boats. Perhaps the best day sailor ever made. Makes me want to try.

Wow. You’ve been busy. I’m impressed how clean it looks. Nothing like taking something old and giving it new life. I’m sure she will be fun to sail. Looking forward to more of your adventures. Cheers.

She looks beautiful, you should be very proud I don't know about you but I always found that no matter what I did after completing the task she just seemed to handle a little kinder. But then again I'm a firm believer that they have souls.

I have watched about a half dozen of your videos. They are good. Soothing... but informative. I like your music, especially for the intro theme.

It’s not old, it’s vintage, those aren’t cracks in the gel coat, it’s patina. Great work, she’s a lovely sailboat. Congratulations.

Nice work! I've done some of this kind of thing myself. Curious how heavy it the center board?

Great results for you efforts, it looks awesome. Now that you have sailed it a bit how does it compare to your old Mariner? Is there enough length under the cuddy cabin to sleep in/camp out or would you need a boom tent for that?
@cumberlandrover Жыл бұрын
It's definitely more lively than the Mariner, though not as fast. With this boat, I tend to sit out on the decks when sailing close in any kind of stiff wind. The cuddy is excellent for storing gear and you can crawl in there to get out of the elements for a while, but a boom tent would be the better option for sleeping aboard.

When you did get oars for the boat, what length did you choose / or make?
