SB, as a writer who spends too much time writing/editing and reading the non-bath type lit, i cant agree more...that more time needs to be spent in bathtub reading, for me that is myster and spy fiction (im writing a 2nd collection that is ostensibly a spy's book of poetry ahah)...my pleausure is Le Carre (his son new Karla's Choice is fabulous), Greene, eric ambler, Ben Macintyre, Simenon (all), Sayer, and some great writers who do the occassional pulp stuff (denis johnson, bukowski and anything from Black Sparrow Press....anyway, looking forward to the Christmaspectacular.....stay wet in the tub, but dry on the cruise....hug, bb

and to my obsession with spy pulp and mysteries, i forget to add American Noir, like Chandler, Thompson, Hammett, Cain, Ellroy, Highsmith, Himes, Mosley (who spoke beautifully at the Natl Book Awards thur), Leornard...etc....ok, happy christmas nog bathing...bb

@@bluewordsme2agree on American noir - Parker in the house! Check out Ralph Dennis lost & found Hardman -Atlanta deathwatch series. And Scott don’t like Banville, but his Benjamin Black…Quirke series is excellent. The best in crime fiction… is high lit.

@@larrycarr4562 AWESOME...i'll check our Dennis and i also prefer Banville of his Benjamin Black over his literary work, which is wildly overwritten hahaha....thank you Larry

@@bluewordsme2 Interesting, I like many of those two, esp. Greene. Could never read Banville but maybe someday... did you see the MARLOWE movie based on one of his novels? It was sort of a mess but I liked it, and always love Neil Jordan... s
@bluewordsme2Ай бұрын
@@Scottmbradfield yes, indeed.....marlowe the film was a messhahahah.....i forgot, another great writer i love, who i will be returning to this christmas is robert stone...beginning with a flag for sunrise, which i loved,...anyway, off to write...be well...bb
