Lovely video! I wanted to tell you that I own two coronation mugs, one of Queen Elizabeth and one of her father. I found them on separate occasions at different antique stores here in the U.S. and when the queen passed I put red roses from my rose bush in her mug and greenery with a black ribbon tied to the handle. I made a little memorial with a candle and white glove and a small crown that I added a Union Jack button to, like a jewel in her crown. (It was a vintage British Invasion button from when the Beatles came to the USA). I lit the candle every day of the mourning period, refreshing the roses as needed. She was greatly admired all over the world and we will never see her like again! She truly gave her entire life to the service of her country.

I've been glued to the television every day, these last two weeks, watching all the events from the UK. So moving and emotional! Praying for the Royal family, especially King Charles as our new monarch. (Huge job ahead for him and enormous shoes to fill, after our beloved Queen Elizabeth has died!). I collect antique royal memorabilia and I've got three antique cup/saucers with the three generations of coronation events. Wow, I love your book and biscuit/cookie tin. Thank you so much for watching! We didn't really watch a lot of it to be honest as we were so busy, I was still in Germany visiting friends (more about that in a video next week). The bits I watched from the funeral made me very emotional too. Of course we knew that she 96 years old but I think the fact that only a photo of her was posted 2 days before her passing made it very surreal indeed. So we wanted to film a video last weekend and I rescheduled the Germany one for next week. Have a lovely week too.

Dear Susan Joy ThompsonI, too have been glued to the tv and have watched all of the processions and services. I am sad to see it end, for all that it was a funeral. I found comfort and hope in the stability of the Monarchy and the values and light they represent to an ever darkening world. I only have 2 Royalty cups and saucers in my collection . One of QEII Coronation and the other of Charles and Diana’s Wedding. I let a cup and saucer of George VI Coronation get away as I hesitated over the price, someone else snapped it up. However a friend gifted me with an exquisite china figurine of the Queen in her Coronation regalia.. the same friend found a QEII coronation book from 1953 and gave it to me. it is filled with geneaologies, protocols, pictures of course and detailed lists and descriptions of all of the Peers of the Realm who participated and much more. I also am praying for King Charles and looking forward to his coronation I am just an American who loves all things English..I hope my Grandchildren or great grands will appreciate and treasure my collection. from a kindred spirit. 🇺🇸

What a wonderful way to remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ! I stayed up after my night shift to watch the funeral . I don't mind admitting that I teared up several times . I found a Coronation brooch of the Queen at an antique show a few years ago and I wear it often . It's about 3 inches high and her crown sparkles which I love . Growing up we had several books about the Royal family which my sisters and I loved looking at . I'll never forget seeing the Queen in Toronto in 2010 . She is dearly missed . 💕👑🇨🇦

This was a wonderful tribute to Her Majesty The Queen. So many leaders are in a privileged position, yet many divide. The Queen throughout her reign truly did unite. I like thrift stores but have never found anything remotely like the ones back home, I get excited if I ever find an old English style teapot! I hope my mum still has the jubilee mugs etc we used get from school! It is the Queen Mother book of rarely seen photographs that is extra special, and will find a special place of honor in your home. As a very young American girl, I always admired and was drawn to the Queen…these past two weeks I have found myself bringing out my commemorative items, including a month of vintage clippings appearing in our California newspaper, leading up to the Queen’s Coronation. I was fortunate to see the Queen in London on her 1981 birthday celebration in 1981…even that view from afar will long be remembered of a remarkable woman for the ages. During the 70s and early 80s I was always looking around antique shops and even junk shops. Everything I feel was much more expensive than it is today especially furniture. Things like heavy Oak wardrobes or cabinets were in the £1000s now they are not very popular and you can pick up things like that for around £50. However jewellery silver and china items keep a steady pace. I like to collect Late Victorian to Edwardian jewellery if I can afford it. I don’t know about pictures or books as I was not into those. My collection was fine bone china and silverware. Most of my collection has been sold now due to buying a smaller property. I must admit sometimes I think what shall I do today and you have just revived my interest again. Even if it just to mooch around and not buy anything it’s good to look. I have stuff at home I need to get valued before I sell but that takes time as well as long trips into London. The book on the Queen Mother is lovely. I have a really beautiful book about all our queens jewellery collection called The Queens Diamonds, fascinating book. I just wish we had more of these large antique places you have near you around where I live. Oh well maybe start from the beginning again boots sales!

Oh you are so right, we do buy real silver from time to time too and you definitely can't get it cheap! Furniture is something else, such bargains out there, even if you need to reupholster something, it can be so worth it. I agree, browsing is so nice and if the shops come with a lovely tea room it's perfect.

I loved this video. I haven't stopped by in ages. I miss the dear Queen so much even though I live far away in British Columbia! I have seen her a few times in person when she visited Vancouver. Once long ago in 1983, she waved at my sister and I when she spotted us standing alone on a sidewalk during our work lunch hour! We thought that was so kind; we picked a street on which her motorcade drove past and we knew it wouldn't have many people as it was out of the way. What a wonderful sweet wise woman she was.

What treat to be taken along shopping for memorabilia of Queen Elizabeth and the Royal family.! I collect antique china and I am especially fond of the Queen and the Monarchy even though I am an Amercan. I live close to the Canadian border and have visited Victoria BC and have enjoyed high tea at the Empress Hotel there.. I wish you good hunting for just the right items for your Victorian home.I love that tea caddy you chose. Thank you 💕

Watching this the day after the Queen's funeral. We just had a 96 gun salute for her which has made me feel the finality of her reign. I have been a long time collector of Royal memorabilia so this video was a special joy to watch and I really am envious of your Queen Mother book- what a great find! What a delightful way to honor the Queen’s memory. I inherited an entire set of Coronation cup, saucer’s, plates , bowl’s and a teapot from my nana. I never use them. I have them in a display cabinet and I’m so glad I never sold them. I’d been offered for them numerous times. What great vintage shop’s! Lovely 😊 video. 💕👑

I have been a collector since I was probably around12 years old. I convinced my Mom to buy me a pair of glass candle sticks in a thrift shop. When I think back I realize what a giving Mom I had since I am sure being a farm lady she never ever owned a pair of tapered candles little lone glass candlesticks. That was the beginning of 70 years of my collecting. I so much enjoyed seeing you shopping in a wonderful shop and comparing it to shopping in the USA, And I have had a lifelong love of your Queen since a 9th grader watching her coronation on a17 inch black and white television. Then I discovered we shared a birthday, And I sat sadly watching her funeral.
