I was able to locate the 1998 Polaris XC 700 that my Dad bought brand new when I was young! This was always my favorite sled and I hadn't seen it in 20 years!! Derek and Bradley from Vice Grip Garage came over and helped us get her running and then I had to follow up with a tractor burnout challenge.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Just watched your vintage snowmobile video. I grew up in the Red River Valley in Minnesota, and now am in my 70's so my wife and I have hung up our snowpants and boots. After owning 35 snowmobiles since 1972, and doing my own wrench work, like the vise grip garage (I'm subscribed to his channel as well), I truly had and drove the real vintage machines. All my wife's relatives live in Roseau, MN and some work at the plant, so am proud to say I never owned a Polaris, and have never been beaten by a Polaris in a race across the lake. Out side of owning 5 Skiroule snowmobiles ('72 - '76), all my machines have been Arctic Cats. Long live the CATS!!!

LIBERTY 700!! Best Polaris engine. I had mine (04 sks700) to the PIN (120mph) and hit a trough buried under the snow. Tore one ski clean out of the frame and wedged it between the track and tunnel. I flew superman style for over 70 feet. We've both cheated death, my friend!! (I walked away though....needed a collar later.. ;))

Hi Zach, The 98 XC-700 / XC-700 are GREAT sleds. I had a 600. It is the best sled I have ever owned! I sold it a couple of years ago with almost 10000 miles on it. Now that you have this sled back, hold on to it. It's a keeper! Ride safe!

I discovered your Millennial Farmer channel on KZbin about six weeks ago. I have been binge watching your videos, and have been enjoying them very much ! It is great to see a young family decide to go into the farming business. Keep up the great work; most people today really don’t understand how our food is produced. Zach, I really enjoy the humor you put into your videos, but then to be a farmer now days you have to have a sense of humor. Seems like your always having to deal with some sort of issue. I grew up in a farming community in Wisconsin, 8 miles north of Winona, MN. If you were going to Green Bay to watch the Packers play this weekend, ( sorry I had to go there ha ha … My humor ) you would pass 53 miles north of where I grew up. Keep the videos coming !

Just got rid of my 1998 600XC with 4000 miles on the clock this last summer. Sold it to my co-worker and he got it running in short order. Of course the brakes don't work on that one either but he said it fired right up. It had been sitting for 10-12 years in my garage. One of the fastest sleds owned. Prior to that I had a 96 600 XLT(loved the sound of those Polaris triples) before that and it could pull away from that sled.

In 1998 I was on a Polaris XLT-600 and a friend that I rode with had the XC -700. I rode that XLT for just one season because I couldn't keep it on the trail. Next season I had a ZR-600 and he was on a ZR-700. The ZR-600 cornered like it was on rails compared to that XLT.

Changing air dry filter easier if you use wide band oil filter wrench that fits Cat oil filter on your truck engines. Like these from KD GEARWRENCH 2320W Wide Heavy-Duty Oil Filter Wrench 4-1/8" to 4-1/2" I don't remember exact size it is but I know same wrench I use on car oil filter fits air dryer filter too. I have 3 different sizes of them for Detroit, Cummins and Cat oil filters. That wide band filter wrench doesn't slip at all and if you need more leverage just put longer 1/2 drive ratchet on it. I never liked plier style oil filter tools because they dent and mark up filters or they just make holes in the sides of filter.

Zach....Replace the purge valve in that air dryer before it sticks and leaves you stranded. We change ours annually. And when you put the new purge valve back in, fill the snap ring cavity with the white grease the valve comes with then install the new snap ring. Good luck getting the old purge valve out too! You're gonna need it but it's gotta be done before it sticks open...which it will sooner or later. Trust me!!! Contact me if you want to know the particulars on changing those. Done many.
