Vintage Speed Low Bus Exhaust Install!

Time for me to take a personal day! I sent the yellow car home for spring break, another project found its way into the shop, and I have shiny parts to install! This week we install a Vintage Speed exhaust on the new bus motor, and boy does it look sweet. Lets get to work!

Pretty innovative how they make the heater box connection adjustable for wider than stock engines. Cool stuff.

Hey OVTV ( Jason ) that sock is made with the same material that latern wicks are and if it gets a oil leak ! Just saying there was a video that a yellow bug during break in had the J tube wrapped and he had his oil pump leak and it caused a fire . if oil hits metal it just smokes .

This is the first time I've seen one of your videos.. very nice work.. As you were talking i noticed an AMR 500 supercharger on your bench.. i have been interested in one of these and if you have any experience with these I'd love to hear your thoughts.. thx for bringing us along on the V.S. exhaust...

Thanks for watching! Yes, I've been playing with the AMR for a bit. We're working on a couple new setups to give more flexibility on installing them in a bus and in a bug with the decklid closed. Stay tuned!

@@OldVolksTV there is some guys that are in the UK that have several kits available.. They engine test every one of their kits.. They have many videos on KZbin showing installation.. I think their basic kit puts out about 90 h.p. with about 130 torque... Good luck with your amr 500..

Well, that's going on the next motor. Either a 1600 with a supercharger or a 1915 fancy motor.

You can't fine tune dual carbs with a wideband, with engines with vintage exhaust systems.

Right. I do have another motor with this exhaust that has EFI and will require a wide band O2 sensor. The placement isn't ideal but it should work good enough to get a tune.

@smokepeddler I like the shifters. I have a couple of them. And the linkages are really nice. The exhaust sounds good but after a few months of use it looks like crap and the hardware is corroded. I'd probably get something else next time.

@@OldVolksTV they do make a stock looking shifter that's pretty nice. But....I'd rather go with a Berg or Scat shifter.
