Early game panning is my go-to at night. I always choose a good location around water for my first home base and have at least one block of it in my home floor just for this reason. It doesn't take long to dig up a stack of 64 sand or gravel and you'd be amazed at how much stuff you can get overnight to the point you have to make sure you have an extra container to hold it all! Sometimes, it's the fastest way to get started if you're struggling finding copper.

Getting the cracked vessel via the malefactor has a huge advantage. Some traders buy these for a lot of gears. So you might want to play one, if that is to your liking.

Love this game. Love how it's TFC but a bit easier, with more content and with the great idea of adding lore. Hats off to the devs!

Pretty sure its the developers of Terrafirma craft that nade thr game, because minecraft's engine was too limiting so they made their own game.

It's made by the devs of VintageCraft which was inspired from TFC. No TFC devs are involved.

Yay! More VS videos!!! I heard Twitch is going to stop paying streamers soon. I immediately thought about you. Oh, I also saw a Daily Dose that had some poor Scottish guy trying to say "purple burglar alarm". If I were you, I would try and film Kashka trying it. But then again, my self preservation skills are pretty minimal. I sometimes watch your videos about that other block game, but I watch your VS content multiple times over! Later!

9:45 Nope. Kapok wood does NOT want "to be" a pan! ;) I learned it the hard way, as everybody tells, that you can use EVERY wood, even the wiki. So, I started my first game in a jungle biome with only kapok trees around, and couldn't find out, how the heck do I craft a simple pan out of "wood"! Am I really THAT stupid? After more than 200 hours I just tried wood from other biomes and... ...the rest is history. ;)

Could you perhaps make a biome guide video, about for instance how far out you have to travel to find certain biomes?

OH!!!! Do you know how the treasure maps work if you are playing Wilderness Survival or have elected to not have the map enabled??? Also, have you ever thought about doing a "Bit by bit(TM)" on some of the more involved VS mods? Campaign Cartography by Apache would be my first choice, because he is a pretty cool cat!

Jeez, a full year with nobody chiming in! Yeah, I just bought a treasure map on my wilderness survival and it works. Treasure maps will just say in the chat log how many blocks away from the treasure you are.

Hey, new player here! Thanks for making these guides, they're really informative. Definitely helped me. I had a different unrelated question though. I've noticed in your vids that your terrain looks different from mine. From how recent the vids are I assume you're also playing on the latest unstable? I've generated a few maps and travelled across them and I swear I can never find more than like a 5x5 area that is FLAT. Everything is either huge wavy terrain or at best a constant gentle slope that still changes z level like every 3 blocks. Do you play with a different upheaval setting or maybe do the landscaping yourself or am I just unlucky?
@MischiefofMice
@MischiefofMice Жыл бұрын
I am playing and generating terrain in 1.18.5 for these vids so far which has upheaval set at 30%. As 1.18 had some terrain changes as it was rolled out, the latest version (1.18.5 or 6) should be flatter if that's what you are looking for. Upheaval definitely changes the large rolling landscape but not the spiky bits and mountains.

I take it that the only friendly npcs are these trader wagons. I love the fight for survival in this game but I can only play it when I'm in the right mood though. There is practically nothing to find of interest that I've seen above ground. Some stone ruins and those wagons. The portals don't do anything. The biome is practically the same everywhere but changes between flat gravel plains and uncrossable spiky over crowded forest. The lack of diversity and interesting pois make it fairly dull.
