Agreed! If I had to compare it to anything... It would be that minecraft mod.. Tinkers Construct. It has molten metal, it has molds, etc. If I had the skills I would TOTALLY make a VS port of Tinkers, with changes of course to make it FIT the game. For example tool crafting would involve the following method. Place Stick/Toolrod in soft ground vertically. Right click with Tool head *If it can have too different heads, a menu to select further addition will appear to select next head or continue with first head* Right click with Binding *Straw/Glue/Rope/etc* to complete the tool. Add modifiers by either putting it in a barrel with certain fluid solutions, or special workbench. Also I would add an option to disable default tool creation aside from knapping. Oh and make it so shale rock bits, or knife blades can be used as one time knifes on plants *Shale can be sharp after all*

Tin Bronze for 2 ingots: 36 copper + 4 tin (2 peat + 2 charcoal or 2 brown coal) for 4 ingots: 73 copper + 7 tin (3 peat + 2 charcoal or 2 brown coal) for 6 ingots: 110 copper + 10 tin (3 peat + 3 charcoal or 2 brown coal) for the anvil: 162 copper + 18 tin (1 stack /128 + 34 copper) (5 charcoal or brown coal)

Modern bronze is only 10% to 15% tin those add up pretty close, a little low but the game allows for a bit of variability in the amount of tin to create bronze as tin is much more rare especially on the surface.

regarding getting material back, this game does have a built-in mod API, and there's a mod that adds you getting some material back from what you split off from a smithing project. I believe it's called Anvil Metal Recovery

Good to know that shortcut for tin bronze alloys! Like predicted, I've been playing a *lot* of the game (though, in my usual fashion, a lot of that time has been, well, taking my time) and I'm sitting on piles of copper, waiting to improve it with a bit of extra tin I recently found... but the winter's rolling in, the days are getting shorter.... video about the seasons, maybe? Unless I forgot, and you did one already.

They should add an option to cool down molds quickly using watering can Edit: just realized that too quick cooling down usually deforms the metal

This option is already in the game (or probably one of my mods do it, but it's not stated anywhere, so i think this is vanilla)

Check out "anvil metal recovery" mod. It simply returns you metal bits for any pixels you removed while smithing, which is pretty nice. Always hated just deleting my metal into nowhere.

Nice forgery! 😉 What I do to minimize the tin I need: Decide how many ingots I need Use a calculator with the number of nuggets multiplied by the smallest percentage of tin and round up Add that much tin and remove that much copper

shears do not increase drop chances, you'll get the same amount of sticks and tree seeds as if you would have broken the leafs another way, only leaf decay like for example when cutting down the tree directly reduces the drop chances.
@MischiefofMice Жыл бұрын
You actually just contradicted yourself there. It's just perspective. Mine is that chopping a tree down gets you a normal amount of drops thus every other method would increase it. *shrug*

How could we science this??? Spawn in trees until we get identical trees and use shears vs another tool? I wonder if there is a randomness to it as well. The world may never know.

This game is like if you put the micro systems of Project Zomboid into Minecraft, I absolutely love it, absolutely banger of a game. I can't wait until the community or the devs add shaders to the game that improve the lighting and adds shine to metal materials and water, it would add a lot to the game, right now I think it looks quite dull (still good though).

You have helped me to find this unknown fantastic game vintage story. Thank you for that! I would love to play it with my 11 year old son but I really cant find any age limit/recommendation for vintage story. You have anything to say about good age to start playing this or have you read this somewhere?
@drooskie95253 ай бұрын
It might be a little complex for a 11 year old, and might not grip his attention very well (or easily frustrated?). Though, I was doing WoW raiding (healer) and profession services at like 7 to 10 years old so you never know. lol

I have a problem where every time I pick up an item after finishing it it reverts bact to before I used the first split action and is considered 'in progress.' If I set it back down on the anvil I have to split off extra voxels all over again, then I pick it up, and they're back, and it's considered 'in progress' again, repeat ad infinitum. Is this a bug or am I missing a step to properly complete the item? I feel like it's definitely something I'm doing wrong, but it's so frustrating, I've just been throwing away all the broken crafting projects and cheating in finished ones because I can't get this to work. At my wit's end
