I want these to make a comeback. They're really pretty and they're great for preventing your hair from getting messy on a windy day. And my grandmother had waterproof versions for rainy days as well.

My mom used to wear those sheer nylon scarves over her boufant hair-do in the late 60's early 70's. Not warm, but will hold your hair in place.

I always love these until I look outside and remember I spend 3-4 months of the year in a frigid hell of anywhere from minus 15 C on a good day to -45C with wind chill, and I'm stuck wearing my 4 layers of clothing, thick down coat, scarves, hats and ALL THE LAYERS, so I don't freeze to death 🤣 very cute outfit inspo!! So much nicer than any winter outdoor outfits I am wearing lol 😆

i agree, winter outerwear most people wear is a waste of opportunity: i noticed when i went to the grocery store the other day that we all looked alike and even if it's the only time of the week i tend to go out, i dont put any effort into it, it's a bummer (specially since i love knitwear, furs, wools and long well shaped coats) I love the curl pattern you have in this video, if it's awet set it's clearly the most flattering you've made so far

My winter wear is basically 2 jackets (wore together at the same time), my hat, a scarf and gloves. I HATE the cold so much. Right now as I type this it's currently 37℉/3℃ and is going to be 15℉/-10℃. And Wednesday into Thursday a storm is due to hit us and we're expected to get between 10 - 15 in/20 - 35 cm of a snow. I'm already over winter, and it technically hasn't even started yet. (The solstice is the 21st)

Love these looks! I always laugh when people go "Omg you're wearing a skirt/dress aren't you freezing?!" And it's like hahaha no! You have been deluded into thinking denim is warmer than 5 layers of fabric! I recently bought the pearl coat from collectif in the black Friday sale (It's been 5 years of premeditated wanting and 2 years of saving) and omg it's probably my most favourite thing I've ever bought myself. Weirdly it's not a SUPER warm coat but I think that's bc I got a size too big so there's LOADS of space in the arms (which is what I wanted as my warmest jumpers are too thick to wear underneath my old coat) but it's quite baggy around the middle by like 5 inches so yeah... maybe I'll get it tailored after the cold season but I think I need to test run it with every possible outfit combo. But the legnth is SO great for keeping my knees and shins warm which is usually the parts that get really cold in winter when I don't have knee legnth boots on. And I live in a very windy city and it's amazing how much warmer this coat is than my old one when there's a biting wind about. TL:DR: 10/10 recommend long wool layers for winter haha

I love vintage style (although I'm more about the 1960s) but I'm always scared that people would stare at me if I'd dress "too vintage". What are your experiences? Do people stare at you?
@faerth54714 жыл бұрын
Any time you're wearing something outside the "normal" range (jeans and a t-shirt, etc.) you're probably going to get stared at.... But that's not necessarily a bad thing! Whenever I go out in vintage outfits I get a ton of compliments, where as when I just wear "normal" stuff nobody notices me. In fact, I've never had anyone say something negative about my vintage outfits to my face. So it's much more likely that any stares you may get are because they think you look cool. And even if like one or two people don't like your outfit........ so what? Their opinion doesn't matter because you're dressing the way you like because it makes you feel good, not so some random person approves of your dress. You can't please everyone 100% of the time, so it's much better to focus on pleasing yourself :) If you're scared to wear something "too vintage" right off the bat, you could start by just wearing vintage hairstyles/makeup/accessories with your "normal" outfits and slowly incorporate more vintage pieces into your everyday wardrobe until you find a level you're comfortable with. Good luck! P.S. if 60s stuff is your thing, you should check out Devyn Crimson! She is a frickin style ICON 🥰 kzbin.info/door/hvpBrDM3n00HLprxQ5SNmg

It can get to -35°C pretty regularly during the coldest part of winter here and, while I don't tend to spend a TON of time outdoors if it can be helped, I can tell you that watching this video and thinking about putting this much stuff on made me feel uncomfortably over-warm. 😆

Wow, haha! I must say we have extremely high humidity over here which gives cold a whole new kick and makes even temperatures around the freezing point feel unbearable. I've experienced -10 degrees in the Austrian alps which was MUCH more pleasant than +2 over here

You can sew in a hair extension clip (you can get a bunch on Amazon for like $8 USD), comb, or pin on the interior. Several of my true vintage hats come with sewn in combs to keep them in place. It's been such a game changer
