This is for everyone who needs a little bit of inspiration and help to build up their wardrobe. All of these pieces are recommendations, if you're going for a 1950's or 1940's inspired look. Please don't feel forced to get all of these items. That's not a must. Just pick out the things you like. At the end your the one who has to feel comfortable and there are no rules in fashion. Best wishes with your Vintage Journey and thanks for watching, Shirin x

@Cadence G Hii I live in the Midlands, UK, and there are vintage shops dotted around which sell portions of clothes from online companies, including Top Vintage Boutique, Hell Bunny, Voodoo Vixen. :) I’ve got one from the first two, Lindy Bop, a liverpool-based soho shop, and Amazon. they’re slightly pricey I’ve found, £30-50. Use terms like swing/circle skirt and 50s tags. Top vintage boutique is the best I’ve ever seen in terms of quality topvintage.net/en/clothing/skirts/#main

I think your comments to focus on neutrals are really key to wearing vintage clothing in a modern way. A lot of the time when dressing vintage with a lot of color/pattern I feel like it begins to look costume-y by modern standards.

your pieces are beautiful. i think when it's difficult to find truly vintage pieces new ones that can be styled in a 50 or 60's way are perfect. it is not easy to find nice vintage clothing where I live. Thrift shops are terrible. Most pieces I have found are for winter so I am looking for spring items. Vintage clothing styles can be worn in a practical manner for daily wear. It is fun to bring classic fashion into our lives. I enjoy all of your videos and look forward to more.

I feel you! We don't even have trift shops in my country so I'm stuck with two small second hand shops in my city out of which only one has "vintage section" that amounts to two racks of vintage clothes. Add to that the fact most of those are either 70s or 80s and even when you DO find something you better pray it actually fits. I did find a beautyful 50s style cardigan on that one rack so maybe I shouldn't complain too much. We DO have a vintage-reproduction shop, but once again, it's small. And the sizes! But I'm aroud three months into my vintage journey and not stopping any time soon. I do have to say that actually finding a really good item feels SOO rewarding now. I feel like I'm on a treasure hunt!
@lindariddle22765 жыл бұрын
elena nojkovic That’s another problem,size. We have an antiques store that specializes in vintage fashion. It is expensive, but once a year they have a half price sale. That is when I shop. Most things are too big. I go to a lot of estate sales. I can find scarves, gloves, accessories sometimes but the clothes never fit. I found a 50’s wool sweater last summer which surprised me. It truly is a hunt and building as you go.

Hello my dear, I am problably much older as most of your followers,I am 59 years old and I love the way you make your videos and everything you present,you are is a joy tho watch.A styling question gives me no peace and perhaps you could help me : could an elderly person like me wear vintage style or it would make me look as I had sprung from a nostalgic movie or museum?I have a normal weight and an hourglass silloutte and I thinka that vintage clothes could give the older body more structure and therefore makes it more elegant.What is your opinion about it?Is ist strange when older people wear vintage, like a time traveller? It is not important to me looking younger but I do not want to look older either, just my age and put together.The 1940 and 1930 are my preferences.Sorry for making you to think about this when your followers are problably not having such questions, but as I said, the question has remained since some time in my head.If you want, feel free to write in german, I live in Bremen.Best greetings and much admiration.

My favorite belt is a long black leather belt with a flower design all the way around that allows you to cinch it as tight or as loose as you want. It is great because I like to wear outfits from all different time periods wich means I sometimes wear my belt far above or far below my natural waist line. Instead of getting a smaller or larger belt to fit my outfits I can just use the one. It was a game changer for me.

The only thing I can’t figure out is how to wear red lipstick!
@WillowSchneider4 жыл бұрын
I’m a makeup artist and it’s my life’s mission to find everyone a red lipstick. Try a really nice red gloss- nyx butter glosses are nice and super cheap. Then maybe try a neutral red lipstick. Maybelline came out with a universally flattering lipstick line and the red looks nice on everyone. You can pat it on from the bullet and then blend it with your finger for a softer look. If you want to spend a little more, Chanel has the best neutral red on literally everyone- It’s their No. 5 lipstick crayon. Pirate 99 is also a classic red Chanel shade that looks beautiful on everyone, too. Hope this helps. Red lipstick is the best!
