The square beater goes on the right and rounder one goes on the left for the bowl. It should have the vinyl button on it to turn the bowl.

You are right one beater is supposed to be more rounded and is supposed to have a nylon button on the bottom. The mixer itself sounds very good. I have repaired a few these myself. It is kinda fun to do actually except for changing out the old grease.

Hey Bunky!! That was my moms mixer!! I remember detaching the mixer and whipping potatoes 🥔 on thanksgiving..

Three extra things, I would check and or replace the motor brushes, and the speed control might be a rheostat or a flyweight governor, the mechanical flyweight governors should be cleaned and lubricated because they can stick and or the contacts can burn and short, then you only get high speed, lastly the gearbox that drives the beater assembly has grease that should be scraped out and replaced if it's all dried up.

@@Bunkysworkshop I work on lots of little stuff, I was always taking stuff apart as a kid trying to figure out how it worked learned a lot from that now there's not much I can't repair if I have the parts and the information.

I have this model and the manual tells how to put the different beater shapes in for the best results. There are two different shapes to the original beaters.

Thank you. I finally got it all together but did get new beaters because the old ones are bent. How long have you had this mixer?

Only a couple of months but I think we need to work on the electrical components and remove the part designed to keep it from "interfering with the tv and radio of old" since it is the main source of shocks. Love the mixer!

My understanding is that the curved beaters are for the small bowl.

The curved beater is shaped so to Mach the shape of the bowl. The manual says the curved beater goes next to the bowl and the square one goes towards the center of the bowl.

The motor height adjustment post in the base is set at the factory and should never be adjusted. The underside of the motor only sits upon the post when the beaters are not in use. When you fit the beaters, the motor should be above the post so all of the motor weight is barring down on the beater button on the outside beater. If the height adjustment post is incorrectly set, you will not be able to use the attachments like the blender or meat grinder as the input shaft of the attachment won’t be in line with the spindle shaft.

It should have one square beater and one round one ..

Keep rounded beater on the outside regardless of bowl size.
