In all my years of riding bikes (I’ve been riding since3&im now50) my dad would kick my farken arse if I rode in shorts a t-shirt no helmet and thongs(US=flip, flops) knobies on the road=ABSOLUTELY STUPID!! Every single one of my mates has come off wearing (NO)clothes like this fella, roads and gravel are Cheeze graters on the human body..!!! 10seconds of fun&bliss can equal a lifetime of misery on our broken bodies, if you skid your skin clean off that’s a hellva lot worse..!!!! You need to clean the threads for the studs using a thread chaser or even a die... You will remove any imperfections or debris from the threads and they will be much easier to go in. It's pointless to tell you now, since you already ordered a tool, but if you would've used a 6 point socket using the double nut method, you would not have stripped the nuts.

Even in this day and age a correctly tuned 250 two stroke motocross bike is all most people will ever need. Hoping to see a 2 stroke comeback and I believe it is going to happen. Luckily Yamaha still produces the YZ250 two stroke and their new enduro bike the YZ250x,,also a 2 stroke but with different internal gear ratios than the track bike I would imagine. 450's are smoother and easier to ride fast and have more top end speed depending on gearing..But they cost so much more to rebuild a top end than a good old two stroke. KTM is probably the best two stroke going as they are more up to date than the new YZ250,,but the YZ is still a great bike. Suzuki RM motocross bikes were notorious for a serious top end power curve..Harder to ride that way, but on the right type of track they were very fast on the straights,,and the old Full Floater rear suspension was the best back in those days.

There was a cocky kid in the neighborhood I think he was a junior in high school, his parents bought him a brand new 1987 KTM 250mx. He already had a 1985 (I think) Honda ATC 350x. I saved my allowance money for a couple of years and bought a used 1981 Yamaha IT 175. He pulls up next to me asking what kind of bike I got and after telling him, he said "mine'll smoke it." I asked him how fast his KTM went and he said "about 90". I remember it was fast but I doubt it went quite that fast. (It was stock).

Ok, so the first thing I noticed it the bike was hesitant? Carb needs to be re jetted at least a larger main? Compression? But the biggest problem is that your top speed has more to do with gearing ( sprockets) even the way it was running, just by adding a extra tooth in front or lower tooth in back would raise your top mph? If your trying to compare these bikes pulling power against each other try marking off a 1/8th mile and time it? Probably a 10 mph rolling start to hit them full on pavement. That RM is not running good. I like your enthusiasm but like others have said, it is hard for us veterans to watch you guys and see so many obvious mistakes? I learned from trial and error but researched thru dirt rider magazine, bike shop mechanics, other more experienced riders? This was back from 1987 to 2009 that I rode and " flipped" bikes. But you guys have a huge advantage?.... KZbin!!!🤨 Why aren't you guys spending the time and effort learning and riding before showing videos?? We want you to succeed but come on? Ask any intermediate rider on here that does his own work and they would be dumbfounded as to why you guys post these with such confidence? Do some homework 👍 do some real riding👍 then do the videos 🙂👍 please, because we like the bikes and your enthusiasm 👍

I don't know. I had a 1994 and it was like basically stock excepted was uncorked with FMF exhaust and it did have a RM head on it because mine was a RMX. So it's a little more tuned down but basically they turn the motor back into an RM and the thing wronged and because of the wide ratio gears easily did 100 easily. And whoever said that a 450 supercross bike can go 90 100 they're wrong. They don't go 100 miles per hour. Supercross bike does not go 100 miles per hour. It's not even made for that. Whoever said that doesn't know what the hell they're talking about... Brand new YZ450 it's going to be a motocross bike. It's not a super trust bike and even then it's more set up for the woods because it's a everyday Joe schmo bike. It's not a race bike. The works bikes on the track are completely different from what's at the dealership at the dealership. They're a little more calm and set up for the woods and they definitely don't do 100

Why do you care what the top speed is? This is adjustable with sprocket swaps. Moto isn't about top speed. It's about athleticism, both bike and rider. Unless you are a top pro you will never get over 60mph on a MX track. I always liked to run 2 teeth larger in the rear for woods riding.

Sorry message went bad so I'm back to the beginning 2 stroke motocross bikes are not made to to run long distance four strokes are two strokes are built to get speed now and quick and fast you take a 250 four-stroke engine and take a 250 2-stroke engine two-stroke get you out of hole but longevity the four-stroke will win it's a bigger lunger. You can't compare four stroke to two stroke it just doesn't work two strokes of fast snappy quick but they get to the maximum fast or four strokes don't
