I bought this guitar in 1989 in Portland Oregon. At the time I thought it was the best sounding guitar I'd ever heard. I liked it better than the Martins I tried. I was into bright sounding guitars then and this one just shimmered. Honestly, mine sounded better than the one you're playing, but I think the strings were different. I loved that guitar for a long time but eventually it was too big for me, i got tired of the brightness, and I developed tendinitis in my hand which the narrow neck exacerbated. So I sold it. Now I have an old Martin. But this 610 is without a doubt a sparkling, rich, magical sounding guitar. I just went looking for my old Taylor online on the off chance it was being sold. It's hard to miss because I dropped an iron on it and there's a distinctive ding down by the bottom. What do you know, I'm pretty sure I found it at a Guitar Center in Houston. Now I want it back! But it's a little spendy just for nostalgia. I miss it though. I really do.

I think around the time they came out with the ES1 the guitar began to sound a lot better.

I wish Taylor still made guitars with nitro finishes.

Why don't you have it tuned to standard pitch?

I'm trying to sell a 1985 Taylor 610 with a pickup. How much should I sell it for?

There is no doubt a great Taylor are a good guitar but nothing sounds like a old Martin and the truth not even an old Gibson!🧠🤯🔫
