Hi, Nice video. I had the same problem with my 1st stage transformer on my Crosley 52. My specs were Primary 460 ohm, Secondary 7,000 ohm and primary turns of 1,970 and secondary turns of 17,335. The enamelled wire was .071mm approx. There were 52 layers on the Secondaries and 8 layers on the Primaries. Hope this helps yourself or others in the future, and yes I unwound it all by hand.

Hey Kent You ever try MEK? It will melt several types of varnish mixed wax. MEK not the nicest stuff to use but it works. W4KG

Never tried it. The coil was covered with paper and some cloth tape. As you can see. I had no expectations that I could get into this one. Many years ago I fixed an ATT prototype speakerphone - the first one ever made commercially - for a buddy of yours at WE. I was able to remove the top layer of the power transformer and repair the popped winding.

Hey Kent I have a philco safari that's unfortunately missing the front plastic cover. Was wondering if you make them to sell or what not.

Hello. yes, I do make them and sell them. they are hand made and hand-painted, so they are not perfect like the originals but I’ve had several very satisfied “customers.” $50 plus shipping. A little costly but they are a pain to make :).
