@@demonicsweaters well deserved, I'm a prepepe channer and back then a locust disciple, are rubber bands shot out of the Bible belt flexing into the Southwest, and so you know a lot of times in the comment section I'm just being completely contrary and inane. I've been following me long enough that I'm sure I've made the mistake of saying some dumb thing in your presence. Thank you for the demo and info. I ingherited one of these, from a great, late friend 10 years ago, but never used it. I have the manual as well. The SmartMediacard and lack of WAV file format is a problem imo. Being very old school, might try it out, and try to burn a master on CD.

I owned one back in the day and never learned how to use it. I finally started reading the manual and could not believe the feature set in this palm sized device. Drum machine AND bass sequencer AND guitar, mic, AND mastering effects? How did I overlook this? Just bought me one and can't wait to use it properly for the first time! Thanks for the fanstastic video (and music!)

you would need some kind of audio input on your android using an interface or adapter and run from the line out on the zoom to the line in on the android, then record it in real-time with a recording app on android.

Can it read MP3 tracks? I want to use it for live shows and SM cards only max out 128mb so it'll allow for 3 2min songs if in wav files. while mp3 files are just 3-5mb

Hey Francesco. Yes, it 'sorta' has a loop feature. You can copy and paste phrases as many times as you like. But I'm not sure I understand your second question.

@@francescogazzara6889 It has 4 simultaneous playback tracks, and each track has 10 virtual takes. So you can record up to 10 tracks on each channel. But you can only play back up to 4 at a time.

@@francescogazzara6889 and you can also bounce tracks if you want to. For example, you can record on all 4 tracks, then bounce those to 1 virtual take, then record 3 more, bounce, 3 more bounce and so on.

@@boedinugroho2393 Yes, it is. You just won't hear them all at once if you play back on the device. You can however export all 8 to your computer and mix there. Or you can bounce 4 tracks to 1 virtual track and then have 3 more to add things to.

I have owned this thing since 05 and love it. The storage and compatability are getting pretty detrimental though. Anyone know of anything remotely similar? Particularly a handheld recorder with FULLY programmable drum machine? Most stuff just has pre-set beats, like the boss micro br. I have one, but it's still not as cool as ps-04. Any suggestions?

Well there's the H4NPro reverb.grsm.io/h4npro. I haven't tried it yet, but it's basically zoom's modern version. They finally make something similar again. Good price too!

To bad these kinds machines are not made anymore - to my knowledge. The Zoom R8 functionality should be able to be fitted into a fit-in-your-hand kind of device. Maybe just throw in a rechargeable battery. I honestly don't know if there would be a market for that kind of machine, but if the price was right there might be. As alternative to iPad plus multiple dongle life.

I’m trying to get my PS 04 file into the card manager. The directions say to select The drive that the card is inserted into but I don’t see that option. Any ideas? Thank you!

what do you mean you don't see the option? You don't see the drop down menu that lists the drives?

I see the drop down menu with drives C, D and E as options but no matter which usb I plug my card reader into it always says removable disk F. I also can see the contents of the ps-04 card in a separate window but it won’t let me drag and drop into the card manager either. I’m not very computer savvy so it’s probably something stupid that I’m doing or not doing I just can’t figure out what.
