When it came to the trial, it was discovered that cannibalism itself was not illegal in Germany, so they got him on manslaughter instead. In related news, human flesh is technically kosher, although it is generally prohibited to eat people, whatever your religion. Except in Germany, apparently.

I reckon Paul (The Gannon one) and Eli would love the Japanese Mario games made by Epoch. They're like upright Screwball Scrambles and have been around since the 80s. They make a new version every few years, usually tied into a recent game. Quite nice toys. Blooming expensive to get sometimes though. I believe there was a Donkey Kong one too.

Fun fact: some (emphasis on SOME) vegans believe that eating human meat is alright as long as the person gave consent to be eaten. It comes from the ethical stance of some vegans and vegetarians that, because animals can't consent to being eaten, you shouldn't do so. I do kind of see their point, in a weird way, but it's still illegal so you probably shouldn't eat someone, even if they say it's okay.

I didn't have Screwball Scramble but I had Run Yourself Ragged instead which seems almost identical to Screwball Scramble albeit with different stickers (also made by Tomy) and I bloody loved it! Another Tomy one I love to get back was Tomy Super Cup Football where you move the little players with joysticks and spin them to kick tiny little footballs (that eventually get lost), I got it as a wildcard present one crimbo and we ended up having a big family tournament because it was so good! Got a lot of mileage out of that toy that I think my dad bought cheap from somewhere.

My assumption as to why are cheap items rare 20 or so years more rare and expensive is that people do not value them as much. if you buy a mechanical toy for 300 pounds you will try and keep it in good condition, but if you pay 3 pounds for it you may toss it away after year without second thought or let it rot away somewhere. Offcourse dose not apply to everything, tamagochis are still overly abundant even 30 years after, but if they were no longer produced it might end up being more collectable.
