Ahhh, the good old days. Everything seemed better back then, GB was a force to be reckoned with, a trip to the shops could be a walk or a bus ride away. Not anymore - thanks Steve for rekindling a bit of magic! 👍🏻😊

Man, that British Steel ad hits hard. In the 80s my dad worked at both the Scunthorpe and Sheffield steelworks. Then in the late 80s he worked at the old Case foundry in Doncaster. He got made redundant from all three. I think it was just about all gone by the time i left high school in the mid 90s.

@@TheRetroManRandySavage Generations of the men in my family worked as coal miners up in Northumberland. They must have gone through similar. My mum & dad moved to London before I was born, so we ended up unaffected by the coal drama.

I didn't feel much of a nostalgia trip in that ad either! Not much in that ad to add a warm glow! 😡

For some strange reason I used to love the music in the first Kleenex advert. Thanks for adding it again at the end.

It is catchy. Using that at the end was a no-brainer.

Some think we have fone forward. I think we have gone back. No wonder mental health is at all time highs. No one wonders round stores, with the visuals, the chats, the smells,the sounds , even the effort of going to the shop to get that latest cassette or vhs

Ah good memories! Funny how BT advertised for people make calls back then. Lots of once nationalised companies being privatised and letters were still king!

Who remembers the Woolies Christmas ads, in the 70s, where it was spot the celebrity? They seemed to last a few mins.

Index - a rival to Argos iirc. The one in my city eventually got turned into an Argos.

Not sure I remember Index catalogues, wonder if they were like the Kays catalogues that always just opened at the lingerie section for some reason!?!

Funny that! 🤣 I vaguely remember Index being part of the Littlewoods shops, maybe their attempt to out-do Argos?

Hi I love watching your retro TV Ads really bring back memories. May I make a suggestion since Cadburys is celebrating 200 years would it be possible for you to do all the cadburys tv ads from the 1970s and 1980s now that would be really something i would really appreciate it if that can be done many thanks.
@RetroSteveUK2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep the 200 years thing in mind, but I don't keep hold of the old advert video files once they've been put into compilations, so I have no way of putting a collection like that together, unless I spend the next year or so collecting more as they randomly turn up. Thanks for watching the channel, and I'm glad the material is able to bring joy as it currently is. 😊
