A “Marathon bar” today or “Snickers” is not only smaller; they also have an inferior flavour. Which is not as good as the original.

I have never seen a "Jive Talker" in a commercial before. That's really funny that they put translations in for him. These ads like this just make me wish even more that it wasn't so expensive to get foods delivered from around the world. :)

Hubba Bubba - The old man who says, "He's a-comin!" is Dub Taylor, an American character actor, who worked mostly in Westerns, starting in the 1940s. In the 1980s, he was a regular on "Hee Haw".

@@TheRetroManRandySavage They changed the name to Starburst in about 1967 when they first started being sold in the US. Not long ago, they had a special packaging that labeled them Opal Fruits in the UK again, but I think that is over now.

Picked Onion Monster Munch are still available. I once made the mistake of eating three packets in a row. They wrecked my tongue & I was sore for a few days.

they were previously known as marathon but the changed the name to snickers in 1990. for what reason i don't know why it seemed a bit idiotic the were cheaper as well back then

@@MultiKs22 Many of the British confectionaries had their names changed when American Companies bought them up. Example: “Starburst” used to be known as “Opal Fruits”. “Skittles” “ “ “ “ “ “Treats”.

It’s fun to suddenly think about exactly what’s being said in an advert, and realise just how stupid it is (when normally you’re only vaguely paying attention, because it’s an advert). “Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum, tastes so good you’ll just love to chew it” - how is this a valid slogan?!? “Food, tastes so good you’ll just love to eat it”. 🤔 “Made to make your mouth water”, though. Now that was a classic, and made sense.

Marathon Bar : in the UK it was the US's Snickers bar, the Marathon in America was the UK's Curly Wurly still have Bounty bars, they're better than Mounds, I've eaten enough of each to know. wasn't the Past funny? must have been, we're all being entertained by it here in the Future.

RIXRADvidz. You're wrong, "Marathon bars" were made by "Mars" (a British company at the time), then went through a name change to "Snickers" when "Mars" sold their business to America.
