Your NewAge Atomic Camera Cabinet video showed up in my feed today. After watching that, I watched a few other videos on this channel before I noticed this video with a thumbnail of you wearing an OU hat. That was enough to convert me to a subscriber. Boomer!

I don’t why this channel has so few subscribers. It’s easily some of the best shop content out there.

Dude, I can't figure out how the hell you don't have a TON more subscribers. Your channel is gold and you are awesome dude. I just bought a 1976 "Rockwell" Unisaw 36-466 in nice condition. It came with a nice table extension and a long Beisemeyer fence system which is nice but I paid $800 for it which in the grand scheme of things considering what I got, that's not much. I will say I actually like the models that are older than the one I got but great used cabinet saws especially Unisaws are scarce in my area so I had to snatch this one. The things a beast. I love Unisaw's. I love space ;-). Cheers buddy. Thanks for the great video!

I just bought the same saw... it’s built like a tank. Mine came with a 3 phase 3 hp motor. So I’m installing a vfd to convert my single phase to 3 phase.

As great as the project was, I was more impressed by the videography. I can only imagine you spent 4 times as long editing that video than you did building the table extension. Well done.

Great video on the Unisaw... I completed restoration on my 1947 Unisaw with help from a good friend, ran out of time due to the weather here in the midwest, no heat in the garage, I just finished over the week end here the teardown my 1954 Delta 6" Jointer that my dad used as a custom home builder. Going to put that baby on avintage Delta Cast Iron base, it will look so cool! Thanks for sharing your video story.

Liked your extension table build... I completed my 1947 Unisaw restoration, when I mean complete, I mean everything, top to bottom, all SS hardware, trunnion assembly, powder coated cabinet, Goose Egg, etc. Have original Delta Guard/Riving system and Miter Gage including 1939 style Miter Gage assembly with hold down system. Added a Shark guard.

even the cheapest saw wont kick back if its square and boards are run through properly, sounds like a out of square setup, these are made like a US WW2 tank, absolutely bullet-proof, I know first hand as I just restored mine.

Boomer........great videography and shop. I have just completed dust control in my shop and it is the best addition I have ever done. You will appreciate how easy to keep your shop clean once having installed and will give you the freedom to woodwork without dusting your magnificent space.

David, I've added dust collection to my Delta also, what is the key to it? I cut out a 4" dustport, connected to a 2HP Grizzly collector, havent tried it yet. I'm thinking sealing up the interior cabinet is the key to making good suction at the port. I also installed a slanted tray below out of the swing path of the motor and arbor/trundle. thoughts?
@davidgandy9813
@davidgandy9813 5 жыл бұрын
@@dorse72 I fabricated a cover for my motor over the oval hole. On that cover, I made some slots for ventilation so when the collector is operating for the TS air enters through the slots on that motor cover. I also sealed all other openings best I could such as the dust cover and between the cabinet and table using closed cell foam. Lastly I made a cover for the opening for the tilt in the front of the cabinet. I have a larger dust collector and ran a 6" port in the cabinet on the lower left rear just above the plinth. Also, a zero clearance insert for the blade helps. You will still get some dust on the top of the table unless you have an overhead collector. I have one made by Shark that works when I use it. Can't use it on everything and it is in the way for skinny boards.

I didn't realize that I had a Twin Brother somewhere. My High School Car was a 1950 Ford with a Flat Head (Bored out, by me 3/8 inch) and Set-up like Robert Mitchum's car in the movie "Thunder Road." I had a 1930 5 Window Coupe, although I never finished it. I had a 25 foot Airstream, really cool, with a Honda 2000 generator. I've had several Porsche 911s, mostly early 911, including a 1973 911E fantastic car. I've been interested in Woodworking since Junior HS, and have always wanted a Unisaw TB, but have settled for a Sawstop TS. One day I'll have some Festol Tools, probably the MFT and Jigs. I would say we are cut from the same Cloth.

I really liked that table saw till you mentioned you have to take all that apart to adjust the height I have a very old Delta Milwaukee 8" table saw 34-260 that has wheels on the side of it one adjust blade angle the other is for height. thought yours was too. . By the way you did a great job on your table saw it looks awesome. I want to add a fence to mine as well but I need to make some extensions it has none. they only made the 34-260 for three years so have not seen any extensions on Ebay. as they are missing. but love it. I added a start stop contactor to mine for safety.

That is to adjust the height of the aftermarket riving knife. You use the hand wheel to adjust the blade height like on any other saw

So you couldn't find cash for a $350 jessem router lift, but you've got every $650 Festool power tool and jig? Lol priorities! Alan at very cool super tools is the best. I have his green generation T-square fence, and still love it...wouldn't mind getting the latest improved black version, but I'm a Powermatic green fan, so the black doesn't work... I know, priorities! Just a suggestion for your next table saw improvement video, find some black HDPE plastic buckets, shred them up, fit the chips tightly into a mold sized for that tube steel outside dimension, and melt it in your oven (I think its 150 deg). You can trim the HDPE blocks to make end caps for your fence guide rail. Great work bud, I enjoy your work!

It is a good idea to move the fence to the left side of the blade for making bevel rip cuts when using a right tilt saw. It is extra important to make sure that your fence is perfectly parallel to the blade if you are going to be using the fence on either side of the blade like this. If the piece you are ripping is too wide to fit on the left side of the blade then it is safer to perform the bevel cut with a track saw if you have one available to you.

I have a 1977 unisaw, bought it new. I put a Uni-Fence on it and it's been a awsome saw. I had a near miss on what could have been a serious injury while making a bevel cut with my saw. The off cut, captured between the angled blade and the fence kicked back so violently that it shot out barely missing me, continued 15 feet across the shop, hit the wall behind me and went all the way through 1/4" peg board. The off cut was protruding from the peg board like it was a arrow. The Dissadvantage of a right tilt saw hit home with me. Since then, I only make bevel cuts with the fence on the left side of the blade, so that the blade tilts away from the fence. This is a safe cut but it is just a bit awkward for me as I'm making the cut. Also, I never make a cut without a splitter. I just ordered the Shark Guard riving knife for my saw to take the place of my shop made splitters.

Go buy a Milwaukee router it has the lift built into the router. The router itself is cheaper then most lifts and it is an amazing router. Id also encourage you to build in a quick change plate so you can drop in other routers that are already set up for common repeat tasks such as edge treatment ect. I will send you pictures of my setup if you provide me a phone or email to send to.

Maybe I'm missing it, but I didn't see you using eye protection while using any of those power tools. If that's right, my advice is "not" to do that anymore. I can't believe no one else mentioned that. Goggles, goggles, goggles.

Beeeeesmeyer. BTW, can you build the extinct piece that holds the riving knife to the backside and tilts with the arbor? I'd be happy to pay, great job, your metal work is far beyond mine. I did a Delta Unisaw restoration this past month, will post a video. Great editing also! havent heard 'Brick Shithouse' since I was in high school, ROFL

I'm guessing you are sponsored by Festool? Considering the price tag of the saw, sander, vaccum, track, etc. For you to balk at $300 for the fence, it's a bit funny to me. :)
