every texture I've tried (vector textures) show transparent. So when I place a background that's the color the texture is. I can't get it to appear black or white. And when I try to Merge in Pathfinder it appears as a solid square. My image is a grey VW van with black font. Love your videos, huge fan. What am I doing wrong?

Btw how should I save my illustrator designs so I could use it for videos? coz whenever I use them for videos they tend to have a white background or a grid background if i save it as PNG or PSD
@SatoriGraphics7 жыл бұрын
hen you save for PNG you need to make sure that you select the 'transparency' box which will make sure there is no background. Here is an old tutorial by myself on this issue :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4qzpJd3bNyNiZI

I did everything but every time I put the texture on it covers the whole area not just the design I made?
@SatoriGraphics7 жыл бұрын
when you copy over the texture, do you make sure to copy it into the right hand side box in the transparency window? Once you have, use the selection tool (black arrow tool) to resize it by holding shift and clicking the corner to scale it down.
@djpacis35707 жыл бұрын
I did that but its covering the spaces in between my design too so what I did now is just make the same color background with the texture to hide it from the gaps...

@SatoriGraphics7 жыл бұрын
hey thanks for the feedback! Is the image you are trying to add a grunge effect to an actual vector? If you can screen-capture the problem and upload it to a image sharing site, then pass me the link, I will see if I can understand the problem :)
@luizamusia5487 жыл бұрын
I make a image in some phone app witch is was in pixels. I convert that in illustrator to vector. I press image trace high fidelity photo and than expand. After that i took some grunge effect from internet convert from pixels to vector in the same way. And i want to make only one edge of my image grunge so I made a grunge efect balt with transparent background. I place that on this image. I mark both images go to pathfinder and i press second icon on shape modes (minus front) and after a while only some dots left no image all gone.

Bro, Can you upload some tutorials on Logo design by using "Golden Ratio"
@SatoriGraphics7 жыл бұрын
I have been asked this before, but honestly the golden ratio is at best a mathematical theory and doesn't have much credence as being visually appealing aside from a personal opinion. I myself have never used it in any of my logo design projects. So I am afraid I won't be making a video on it lol, just not my thing

why does illustrator becomes so slow?
@SatoriGraphics7 жыл бұрын
This happens because with the grunge vector on your file, there are hundreds of tiny objects which is a lot of data for Illustrator ti account for. What you can do (which I forgot to mention I think) is to open the pathfinder window and then unite all of the small objects as 1 object
