@@warmoth Do you guys make 70's replacement bodies with the 3 bolt neck pocket etc.? I have a 70's strat with a neck and pickups that I love but it's soooo heavy I want a lightweight Swamp Ash body to replace the heavy northern ash or whatever it is. I love the guitar other than the weight. Really need to find a lightweight replacement body without trying to make it a 4 bolt. More hassle than I need trying to convert it to 4 bolt. I want a 3 bolt. Thanks!

that little rout between the tele pup cavities is probably bc they didnt have the machinery or drills figured out to drill all the way into the electronics cavity at the right angle. That way they could use two steps to get it right.

at 2:07 that's exactly what happened to me. had to dremel out the pickup routes even lower than the existing depth to fit Gen. 4 noiseless pickups. good learning experience and turned out cool in the end

I got a Warmoth replacement body. I compared the tone to my '91 Fender strat body and I don't even want to use my Fender body anymore. There is more sustain in the Warmoth body, same alder wood on both. The neck joint is perfect on the Warmoth. Got a tele body too and the wood grain looks so good through the tobacco sunburst that I couldn't put a pickguard on it.

If you want perfectly shaped upper bout edge then buy the standard strat body and not the vintage body. This is a unique feature to warmoth because of both the shallow tummy cut and shallow forearm cut plus lots of sanding to create that perfect consistantly thick edge.

🙋This brings up an interesting point. Let’s say you go way back and find an old Fender 🎸 body with a design flaw/bad design that was corrected subsequently. Should new old stock be faithful to the original design or subtly fix the flaw, provided it doesn’t change the look of the body? 🤔

Vintage reproductions are basically fan-service, so it's what the fans want that drives the design. And in the case of the T body in particular, they want that router bump! If we didn't include it there would be wailing, gnashing of teeth, and rending of clothes!! Villages have been burned for less.

nobody ever talks about the difference in the Telecaster bridges and the different thru the body string hole locations and mounting screw locations, There are also different locations of the bridge pickup.. .....the demo in this video is for vintage Telecaster with the ash tray bridge not for the USA Telecaster.

Hi Guys, just a quick Q: I have ordered/purchased 4 vintage Strat hard tail one piece bodies of various woods with a variation of vintage custom necks. I noticed in the video the counter sunk ferule method for the Tele will need the Warmoth special ferules. Will this method apply to the Vintage Strat hard tail bodies as well?

What about that extra opening in the neck pickup cavity that's pictured in the thumbnail? Doesn't seem to be featured on the standard model either. i assume that's the truss rod access?

Didn't think to mention it in the video, but that's exactly what it is: truss rod access for the vintage-style necks where the adjustment nut is at the heel.

I wish they would allow for neck-through, or glued necks on some models. Obviously, Fenders are bolt-on, but allowing for neck-through or glued options would be nice. Also, it would be nice if the would do true 24-fret necks rather than the extended fretboard versions, because they won’t do binding on the 24-fret necks. Also, on Gibson-style bodies, they only allow for three-way toggle; no 5-way switches. So, the customization options are limited. I don’t see why people aren’t allowed to put 5-ways on a V, SG, or Les Paul type body. They are allowed to get them routed for three pickups.

What do you think about the comedic visual effect of two Aaron's holding a different body for comparison in the same picture? Also love your intro, it reminds me of this old finnish comedy intro. One of the actors is a musician Heikki Silvennoinen, often nicknamed the Clapton of Kangasala (a place in Finland). Brilliant guitarist.
