I love that you show how long this can take. So often people make it look like it's a quick brush and pin and out the door!

Yeah, it’s a lot of brushing and I even cut some out (it’s too boring).

Thoroughly enjoyed this video as always Christine. Your hair always looks in beautiful condition ! I haven't done a wet set in a while and this has given me a nudge to practice some more. Stay safe 🤗

Christine, queen of hair....I love watching your expert manipulations, so good! Have you recently had a haircut, as your hair looks a little shorter to me? I have left my hair for a long time through various lockdowns etc.with a view to finding a vintage hairdresser near me to give me a middi or horseshoe haircut...which do you have/prefer? Also, I want to grow my fringe out a bit more as it always seems a bit whispy to me. Any way thanks for another great vid, so welcome to those of us who are still learning the skills xx

I learned how to cut my own hair during quarantine. I cut it into a horseshoe cut with no layers. The last trim I did was about a month ago. It’s still just past my shoulders when wet, but since these rollers gave a much tighter curl it shrinks up quite a bit.

I love your video new subscriber. I have ethnic curly wavy 23.5 inch hair and form works best for me. However I do suck at the brush out 😅🤣😂 so will watch more videos of yours and others to get a better idea or technique. Love your result🤗💕

Not here on KZbin, I did a quick time lapse video on TikTok and Instagram though. The setting pattern is the same as my regular wet set (I do have a video for that).

Hi! I love your videos. I was hoping you could post a video about hair maintenance when working out/sweating/going to the gym daily. Is the only way to maintain them is to redo the curls every night?
@TheGlambassador Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure I’m the right person to do a whole video on this as I don’t work out hard enough to sweat that much where my set would be ruined. But I’m happy to provide a bit of advice. The type of set I do (true wet set) tends to be strong enough to withstand moderate sweat when I work out, and it doesn’t pull out my curls. But you could try wearing a headscarf or turban when you work out to help absorb some of the moisture. And re-rolling at night can help to re-form the curl for the next day. Dry shampoo can also help to absorb some extra moisture after working out. I hope that helps.

Where did you get your hair cover? It looks comfy.

It’s just a scarf that I tied into a turban.

I'm growing out my hair from really short a year ago. The top part of my hair is long and thick, with some body. The bottom part just does a natural flip up. I'm trying to figure out how to style it. My hair is very healthy and "slick" because I don't perm, bleach or color it, so it's hard to get things to stay in place in my hair. My hair also tends to be oily, so by the third day it's kind of flat and has to be washed. Like I said, I'm trying to figure out how to style it, and what type of curlers I could use. I absolutely cannot use hot curlers like some people do, because they don't stay in my hair.

If your hair is really slick, I would try using foam/sponge rollers instead of pillow rollers. The foam has more texture and your hair will grip to them better than the pillow rollers. You can also train your hair to go longer between washings, using a small amount of dry shampoo can help you with the excess oil, and checking our shampoo ingredients to make sure you aren't using anything that will dry out the scalp that results in producing more oils.

Does anyone else ever run into issues with the curls forming again even after brushing out for a while? I can get a really good wave going but after 30 minutes or so the curls from the rollers clump up again and I look more like Shirley temple haha. I usually bring my brush with me in public
@TheGlambassador2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that happens all the time. The trick for this is to tease the hair a bit, this can help to stop the clumping. I definitely don’t do it every time, but does help. Just lightly tease the bottom and underside of the hair, this breaks up the curl pattern a bit and gives more volume to the bottom part of the hair and it makes it harder for this ringlets to reform. The good thing about this is that you know you have a good strong set when this happens. If I’m not going to tease my hair, I’ll just put it in a hairnet for the first day and that also stops it from reforming the ringlets.

Where all the pillow rollers the same size even though they were different colours? I have very similar hair texture to yours. I have been growing my hair for the past few years and I find the curls harder to manage. Wet sets seem the way to go. I have never tried a wet or roller set on myself before. I’m going to a salon to get a roller set done to see how it will turn out before I consider buying rollers for myself. The largest size roller they have is 1.5” not sure if that will be big enough. It will be an experiment.
@TheGlambassador Жыл бұрын
All of the rollers are the same size about 1 1/4 inch in diameter. I wouldn't go any larger than 1.5" unless you are going for a looser curl.
