Here we'll take a step back in harvesting history to when the IHC 706 tractor and IHC 402 pull-type combine were new.
These vintage machines were both built in the mid-1960's. The 402 was the less expensive version of the IHC 403 self-propelled combine.
Growers felt they had the tractor to pull it, so they saved some money in buying the pull-type. Not another motor to maintain was also the thinking.
There are no major equipment manufacturers that currently build a pull-type combine.
The grain truck is also from the mid-1960's.
Enjoy!
