I really like the look of it very interesting way of getting to that point. Nice looking table too

I truly appreciate that. I had no idea how to achieve the look I was going for, so I started minimally aggressive and stepped the aggressiveness up until it looked the way I wanted. Sometimes, you just have to try something different.

Thanks Vic. I'm glad I went this route with it. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The only Wilton bigger than this is the 800. From my research, it weighs in at two hundred and forty-eight pounds

Great looking vise. I like the fully restored "user" look.

Thank you. I had never attempted to take that look this far. I am glad it turned out nicely.

Looks great brother. That is a beast of a vise.

Thank you. It is definitely a beast. I can only imagine the 248 lb Wilton 800

It sits nicely on that rustic wood. If it were in my shop, I would have a coffee and stare at it before starting a new project!

I definitely have but projects keep finding me

It turned out great. Looks really good. One benefit to doing it that way is you wouldn’t be afraid to use it. When you do it all nice and shiny you’re afraid to scratch it. Great job. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. I didn't get to film it, but I was talking it outside to try and let it flash rust. I had it on the tool cart, and while going over the floor transition, the tool cart and vise crashed to the floor. Thankfully, it only added character. I would have been extremely disappointed if I was going for the nice new look. I now unfortunately have to replace 4 wood floor slats.

What a great vise. I love how you recreated the character of the original used finish which is many times harder than doing a new finish. Thanks for showing the steps. As you were working on the vise I had several questions but you took the time to explain them before I even asked. Well done restoration and video Ryan.

Thank you, John. I wanted to try something different with my video. I felt I had to explain what I did to help anyone who might want to try it themselves. If I had filmed the process, the video would have been much longer.

its as big as you can get without being overwhelmed by its size! The biggest is the 8" and that thing is a monster! The 6" is manageable! I love the curves on it, especially this one as its an older model but am digging the newer 600 one as well and I think its pleasing to look at too!

It amazed me to find out that the eight inch waze more than twice what the sixth inch does. It is definitely a monster.

@@_BigLife_ did you see Keith’s video on the 8” Wilton on KZbin? What a huge vise! I don’t mind getting the 6” for a decent price but the 8” will be of no use to me! It will be a looker and people may thing it’s a plastic store display model!

@@ronitsingh85 I've seen a couple of videos on KZbin on 8 inch wiltons and other vices not sure if I saw Keith's. I will double check

Wow nice work! That's a monster of a vise, and that color sure came out good.

I appreciate that. I am glad I painted it this way instead of verde green.

Excellent work man. I've got a Wilton shop king that was in my grandfather's workshop that I've been meaning to clean up and get in-service. Not as cool as this giant bullet vise but useful. This project came out great!!!

I truly appreciate that. A good vise is something every shop should have

I feel very fortunate to have been given this one. I think I still like my Morgan 138 better, but the Wilton is a good vise.

Great job buddy. It's a paradox but one of the hardest restorations to do is restoring a tool to its pre restoration condition, if that makes sense? Pukka work buddy keep it going 👍👍👍👍👍

Thank you for the kind words. This definitely was the most time-consuming and labor-intensive restoration I have done so far. I absolutely believe it was worth it.
