These machines are really efficient at processing wood. You can quickly get a square board from a piece of firewood. It has huge tables oriented lengthwise for processing long stock. It is truly an amazing machine. Any tool can be dangerous and safety features are no substitute for proper operation and attention while doing so.

The machine in question is Vintage when it was made it would not have guards on it, unlike the new ones you see and use today.

Станок восстановлен неплохо, но заметил 3 ошибки: 1) Красить зубчатые венцы конических шестерён было не нужно. 2) Консистентная смазка на открытых шестернях и цепях соберёт на себя опилки и пыль, в конечном итоге привода начнёт заклинивать. 3) Зачем ставить на фуговальный вал нож с повреждённой режущей кромкой.

Very good restoration, not perfect but at least it works for now, at least. Everything you put that tractor grease on, will wear the machine out quicker than its time. Do you put grease on your car timing chain, bicycle/motor bike chains, or it's sprockets? Grease works better in a closed system, like your drill gear box or angle grinder. That is a woodworking machine you suppose to clean after use, and oil after a few hours of use. One good thing is you will not need a vacuum for most of the work done on it. That grease will catch most of it for you. Get an automatic oiler system.

Can I ask why you painted all over the rust? And why didnt you porperly sand the steel tables? You can even see the knives in the planer are messed up. I dont really think you can really call this a restoration. Its like just you painted over everything

There are paints available today that can be sprayed directly onto rust that essentially neutralize the rust completely and the paint bonds with the steel. Perhaps that’s what he used?

Карщик конечно тот ещё клоун, ну и "реставрация" собственно такая же, без понимания процессов. В общем понятно - работает через раз, зато блестит как у кота яйца. Главное ведь что - покрасить и солидолом пожирнее всё вымазать. А как ты думал, если в фуганок засунуть отвертку и потом молотком стучать, затупятся ножи или нет? Это тебе не шестерёнки и поршни красить, тут голову на плечах нужно иметь. Весёлый ребята - им бы в цирке выступать, на потеху публике.)

Too much grease, dust and dirt will stick to it, so use dry grease from a spray can. That thing is extremely dangerous, but who cares, you don't wear safety glasses when grinding, or welding goggles when burning.
